My Review on EURO 2004...

Well, finally got the game and play for few days...... as a FIFA Series fan, here is my review on the game......

Full point is 100% for each section below....

User Interface = 75%
User Interface is improve a lot from FIFA2004, FIFA2004 is the most terrible game menu and user interface i play of FIFA series!
Although the Euro 2004 was improve, but it is react slow for the game menu, i believe my machine is powerful enough to play the game, and i believe more of the other gamers have the same problem...this is what shouldn't be happen to the game......please solve the problem, EA!!!

Graphics = 90%
As usual, this is the strongest point of the FIFA Series, no doubt with it!!! My only compaint is the player's number on the kit, the size is not correct, the font is not suitable, and the font is jagged on the shirt, spoil the perfection of the graphic on the player.....if have pay attention when you play, you will notice that some time the number on the short will stretch until bottom of the short, it's crap....

Music = 90%
So far, i'm quite enjoy the musics in the game and no complain about it! Nice!!!

Commentators = 85%
Obviously this is another big improve from FIFA2004, at least no more "slow" commentary happen like FIFA2004, and quite enjoy the commentary when play the game, not bad!!!

Control = 80%
Slightly different with FIFA2004, but better to control. No much complain but have to get use to it!

Animation = 85%
Player's animation is ok, and some of the animation you already seen in FIFA2004. If the animation when substitution is show the player exchange at the sideline of the field will be better, instead of just show a short animation player run.....

AI = 70%
Better than FIFA2004, but more to improve!!! Ball physic and players AI really need to improve, no realistic enough and some time feel ridiculous ......

Gameplay = 70%
Overall still found enjoyament from the game, but definitely still much more to improve, same as the AI...I'm not a WE/PES fan but i have to admit, WE/PES gameplay is more realistic and EA have to working hard on this.....

Game's Frame Rate = 70%
This is another problem of the game, as other gamers have the same problem, the framerate of the game is low, cause the game not smooth, and direct affect the mood to play!!! must solve this EA!!!

Tournament Feel = 75%
Honestly, i can't feel any big tournament feeling, like World Cup 98 and World Cup 2002, you can feel the big tournament feel and enjoy with the game, but Euro2004 is obviously lacking of this, what a waste!!!

TOTAL = 79%

anyway, it's only my personal view, just share with all gamers......at least this game bring me back to play FIFA Series Football again after a disappointed by FIFA2004....

The commentattors are different now?

I have to admit that the commentary was not that bad in the past games... but those 2 guys are SOOOOOOOO boring, that they take away a lot of passion in teh game. I want more "OHH WHAT A PLAY" or a big and joyfull "GOOOOOOOAAAALLLL" scream...like any normal commmentarist....

but i dont know, i dont like those oldguys in the 2004 game...too too boring in comparison with other commentarist.

how abt getting the other EPL commentators then? haha.. anyway i agree on the 'Tournament Feel'.. it's really lacking.. World Cup 02 has the best 'Tournament Feel'..

I'm playing PC version....the morale system? i dun think it's really affect the players in the games, it's depend on the way how u playing, the morale is low, but you still can win, i can't see any big influent on it....

yeah...wat you said is right, everybody also thinking want to have that kind of commentator, just like wat "iceman04" said, maybe be need to get EPL commentators .... but honestly, it's improve from FIFA2004, really.....

exactly! all thsoe comemntators do is bitch and moan not compliment or try to be optimistic!! And yeah we finally want a loud GOALL scream after a well deserved goal!!!!!

BUG: Anyone noticed if you miss, the crowd goes AWWWW and then on the rebound you score, the crowd is still in the "aww" making the "YAYYYY" not as strong??

i agree with it all i love the game and they have made some improvements but still needs more improvement before fifa 2005

I've played only FIFA 96 (!) and 2001 in the past and in comparison this one kicks ass, although it's a bit short as there is only one tournament.

Annoying things:

1. Players are offside all the time. At best there can be two or three players just running like 5-10 meters behind the enemy lines. Can't they realize they have to get out of there?

2. Goalies don't come forward enough. After a long ball just arriving at the border of the box and all players are far from it, the goalie doesn't go get it but lets the attacker (of course) get it first.

3. Defenders are lousy at catching passes that go "up-stream".

4. Menus are slow-reacting.

5. Replays sometimes change players, i. e. if I score with Ibrahimovic, it shows Ljungberg scoring in the replay. Once I had my goal shown done by the opposite team!

I would like to see my goal from the other team!!! Serious now, arent you upset that you do not control the freestyle??

I haven't learned to use freestyle yet.

The commentary is... well I've grown tired to John Motson, as he's been there at least from FIFA 96. Besides, he can't even pronounce Joaquin (from Spain) right.

And *my* goalkeeper doesn't "go down" on anything or anyone in the pitch. =) And none of my players are "in space", they're playing ffs.

It'd be great to get the commentary file from some other language version, e.g. Spanish, so I wouldn't have to listen to those two idiots. But then again, without commentary the game is a bore.
