despite that many european clubs complain all the time(*) I'm sure a world cup of clubs it is a true possibility. Dunno if u'll agree with the format I suggest:
It would happen every two years, after the world cup and Eurocup.
so, the next editions would be in 2007 and 2009, for example.
qualifying - the four semifinal teams in libertadores, for the last two years, making it 8 southamerican qualified teams. the same for europe, africa, concacaf, etc..except for asia and oceania, which sorta got 'united' as a confederation now, and their 16 teams would have to find a way (a quick tourney or perfomance criteria) to turn that 16 into 8, making it 32 clubs.
the countries where the cups would happen could be selected from those ones which recently organized world cups...'cause they would have at least, the beginning of the necessary structure already 'assembled' or at least, 'learned'...so, this first world cup of clubs would be, in '2007' in the USA, then '2009' france, the next in Japan/Corea, Germany, South Africa and so on...or maybe sub-20 cup countries (like Netherlands) could be used, too.
so, what u say? too dreamy?
