Sup how's it goin? I wanted to put this thread here because it's real important and I thought it'd be wasted in the players lounge section or somethin. Jus lettin y'all know one of us is on his way lol.
Today I made my full debut for my team on the left side of midfield. I was by far the youngest on the pitch, the next oldest being 19. So it was proper football. Nothing like youth. It's about a few divisions down from the conference, somethin like that. It's a good standard anyway, we have to dress smart when we first get there and then we do the proper stuff, kinda like the pro's.
But I started on the left side and was told to just try and keep it simple for now. Which I did. I played the easy ball, gave it easy, and passed constructively. Rather than trying tricks and sometimes not pulling them off. I got in a few good crosses which nearly brought a goal. I'd been waiting for this day my whole life and I couldnt believe it came. It's probably the most important day i've ever had. Football means everything to me and playing properly is the best thing in my whole life. I got a few fouls but that was expected. I took the corners too. Lol, and the players were sayin 'get the ball to charlie' 'stay wide charlie' and were praising me during the game. That was a big big lift.
Yea like I said, first half went great, we went 1-0 up with about 10 minutes played which also gave us a lift. I kept getting the ball and kept beating their man by just pure pace, i got fouled a bit and the ref did nothin, that's how it goes tho sometimes.
We went in at half time at 1-0 up and had our cups of tea .
Then I came out for the second half as confident as ever, hoping the second half could be around abouts the same as the first, but i wanted to do better and even get a goal.
Unfortunately, I didnt get the ball as much in the second half, this was because their team upped the tempo and pressed our midfield, so we didnt have the luxury of being able to nock the ball around as nicely as we previously did. But I managed to get a cross or 2 in, and i even hit the bar in a long cross/shot I did.
All my corners today were good, which is pleasing.
Im just so happy I performed, just a bit annoyed the second half didnt go so well! It wasnt really down to me, I was in the positions but they played quite well and pressed on us.
I of course have many things to work on, im 16 and just wana play to a standard where money's invovled, it's what I wanna do it ands the most important thing to me.
I came off with about 10 mins left, the manager said 'well done charlie, i brought you off because you werent getting the ball' which is good really from my point of view, atleast I didnt do anything wrong.
So yea that was class... Im happy as can be.
Then after we went in the clubhouse (kinda a players lounge) for stuff like drinks etc, jus to talk about the game. Then I recieved compliments etc and everyone was just being so nice, which I think is a sign I took my chance. Then when I went everyone so friendly said goodbye, even the coaches all just said bye. I know it's simple but it means a lot to me.
We won 1-0 in the end by the way, not luckily, we played well especially in the first half but they got better, and we edged it out.
We've got a game next Saturday, I wouldnt expect him to change the team so I hope to be in there, if I am i'll be ... Kinda less nervous. I mean i wasnt nervous but i'll be calmer. So i'll try out new things like im already a proper player. Like beckham, when he first joined madrid he did the simple thing, then he was told to build from there, now he invents his own things. So after a few games i'll feel more at home and i'll try out my trickery.
Im so so so so so so so so so pleased, if i'd of had a bad game i'd probably be in tears now lol.
Just gonna rest tomorrow and then on monday tuesday wednesday think about training on thursday, then i'll just keep thinking about the game.
I love it.
I wanna play to the best standard I can.
I kinda thank someone up there for this.
Thank you....Thank you
Thanks to also ppl from here who've helped me out and given me lots of support, thank you
