My first season as a "Semi Pro"

Hello chaps. Thought i would make this virgin forum bleed a bit with a little about myself and my first season.

OK well i'm 19 and recently got asked to play for a semi pro club (not saying who). Anyway i am the youngest guy in the squad.

The average age of the squad is 23 with 4 guys over 30. My first season was a great debut season for myself. I took out the players player award and the coaches player award. I really think i deserved them.

We train 2 nights a week for 2 hours a session. I play a kind of Scholes/Gerrard role but i love playing on the wing or up front. We play a 3-5-2 formation.

Anyway i run to training each tuesday and thursday which a great warmup (9 mile run). I like to keep well fit as my running is a strong part of my game.

However in my 1st season was the 1st season where i decided to convert to nike gear. Well i'm never buying nike boots again, didnt score any goals in comp games only 2 in pre season games.

Anyway yeh i should be a regular for the 1sts next season (i hope) and think i have a good attitude to going far with this team. we finished 4th overall and are doing alright this season (undefeated).

Oh yeh i used to play for Birmingham City school boys until my family moved coz of me dads new job.

Playing semi pro takes away some of the pain that was my premier league dream. Semi pro does it for me now.

Anyway yeh the lesson is buy adidas boots coz i always score when i wear my new f50's.

Mate that is absolute class, it's very very nice to hear ur doing so well, and the awards, well done on that. Superb.

Im aiming to be where you are atleast to be honest.. not ATLEAST as if im saying I can play much higher, atleast because it's a target which i've set myself. As you know you don't know what standard you're able to play untill you actually get settled.

But well done mate, good luck in the future, maybe in 3 years time i'll be where you are

Thanks mate. Yeh the only thing i lack is going in hard. I'm kind of like the Cristiano Ronaldo of the team rofl.

I broke my leg a year or 2 ago in a bad challenge so things havent been the same since. But my coach (used to play for Austria) wants me to be more hard so i cant cement my place in the first team.

We'll see. Anyway 2 goals this season since converting back to adidas.

Haha yea, mate I got it the day I joined. Ronnie this, Ronaldo that lol. Even when I do tricks they're all like WOAAAA lol, funny aint it.

But even with the banter etc etc, it's good especially at away games cause your all in it together, it's a great feeling

good luck man....i've never played above club level....i've only played: middle school, high school, and clubs....i started working on saturdays, so my career was pretty much over (i never really had one)....i was above average at best....
