My first live soccer match - AS Roma vs. Celtic

Last week for the first time in my life I finally got to see a live soccer match with popular teams - AS Roma vs. Celtic.

The game was sold out, and I would say 75% of the fans were celtic fans, the rest wire AS Roma fans or 'neutral'. I must admit, i was surprised at the lack of flags by fans compared to what i see on TV in europe and in pictures (then again I am not so surprised).

My question is for people where socer is popula. How much are tickets for a normal game where you live? I paid $50 canadian for avg seat, and the best seats were $150 dollars. Were we ripped off or is it cheaper in Europe?

first of all, the game was no where near sold out, Sky dome holds 67,000 fans, 51,071 was the attendance.

Did you see the celtic side ( Where i was) under the jumbotron? flags everywhere, as well as up top, all tri-colour irish flags.

and it wasn't so much Celtic fans, when roma scored, the place went ape ****, close to 50-50, very close.

All in all, i hope you had fun, but exaggerating sucks

And to answer the 2nd one, no, it's about the same, i paid 85 pound for 4th row to see Leeds v Tottenham, which is about 190 bucks, so it's about average

Giant Stadium have a capacity of 80,000 and there were (including me) 76+ people, now that game looked like a sold out

Yes the game was near sold out - The Dome can hold 67,000 but for this type of particular event and setup there were not enough seats for 67,000 fans. it was in the closer to 55,000 seats available. so it was near sold out.

Also, I happen to take a picture of where you were sitting. Sorry but what "all the flags" are you talking about? Look at the pic, I don't see more than 10 irish flags (4 big ones, 6 small ones. When I watch soccer on tv and see pics of fans during games, it's way more flags than that. (I have a larger * more clearer pic but I had to shrink it down cuz SG won't allow large files posted here. Let me know you want it.)

Also, I hve to disagree but there were WAAAAAAY mroe celtic fans than Roma fans easily.

I ripped some Celtic fans' flag. It was dangling too low, so I couldn't resist grabbing it. I was hoping the whole thing would come down, but what can ya do.

A season ticket at my home team only costs 50€ They are in dutch first division. The last match I went to PSV the ticket cost 20€

For CL games the prices here are ridiculously high: 50 eur. for a bad seat 100 eur. for a good seat
For the HCE it comes normally to: 15 euro for a bad seat to 50 euro for the best seat in the stadium
