Over the last couple of days, I've been trying to put together a top three league ranking and here it is.
1. La Liga: I personally feel that the true skill aspect of football is displayed in Spain. The beautiful game has an open offense in Espana and it is a highly competitive league. Four points separate fourth place from eleventh place, and the top three of Real Madrid, Valencia and Deportivo are all within six points of each other. Atmosphere wise, very few leagues compare to La Liga. The stadiums and fans are crazy.
2. English Premiership: The game is wide-open offensively here with three top teams as well in Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal. The crowd is intense in every game, and just *one* point separates the top three clubs. Also, four points separate fourth place from tenth place as well so the competition is high.
3. Superliga: Ok, kind of a biased opinion because I'm Portuguese but I feel the passion and heart put into Portuguese soccer is awesome to watch. You have down-right gritty defenders with creative players as well(Deco, Adriano, Derlei, etc.) and I absolutely love the fans in Portugal. They are die-hard fans and having watched six games in Porto myself, I can attest to that.
Also:
4. Seria A
5. Bundesliga
6. Mexican League
7. Dutch League
