I also like Mexican corridos, banda and cumbia. Los Tigres del Norte. Intocable. Pepe Aguilar. El Recodo. Also ranchero and mariachi like Vicente Fernandez and Alejandro Fernandez, Pedro Infante and many others. Great music for when you're drunk off tequila (H)

Hats off to Intocable out of that list:)...their music is really good in my opinion...have you guys listened to that song with Ricardo Arjona called "El Mojado"?...that's a great song...btw I love Arjona's music specially "Si el norte fuera al sur":shades: Also, I'm sick of Daddy Yankee's "Boss" movement...he's a stuck up bitch now and gets on my nerves...If you guys really know about Reggaeton and followed it up way before it was known world wide you would think that Daddy Yankee is a fashionist...the real Reggaeton is what Alexis y Fido and Wisin y Yandel sing...I grew up around it and guys like Daddy Yankee annoy me b/c they are far from what the type of music should be...not even close to what DJ Playero was back in his era...those were good times:clapwap:

DO you mean the mexican music that plays the same beat in every song no matter what?? If so, then I'm with you, It does get annoying.

Any song by MANA, is great.

Soda Stereo is my favourite latin band ever, De música ligera has no comparison.
Los Fabulosos Cadillacs, Enanitos Verdes, Los Prisioneros, Duncan Dhu, La Union, Ekhymosis, Heroes del Silencio are among my favourite bands. in the Salsa genre I have to say Willie Colón and Rubén Blades are the best; but I also enjoy listening to Silvio Rodríguez and Sui Generis.

I really really hate "corridos prohibidos" (forbiden corridos), it´s such a sad degeneration from the old corridos, one where the main subject matter of its lyrics is drug trafficking and all the sub culture created around it.

Even though i was born in Mexico and have lived around Mexicans, Hondurans, Colombians, Argentinians, etc. I'm just not that interested in Spanish music.
Although i do have a couple artists that i like.
Mana for one, is amazing.
Maybe one or two other rock bands stated before...
Rachera is pretty good in some occasions.. (Y)

I don't like much cumbia or similar things but this theme is great. Also Aldosivi's crowd version is good for the matches :p

Patricio rey y sus redonditos de ricota? Never heard of it.

Maybe because they never went out of the country(only a few times to a neighbor country, like Uruguay or Chile). Here in Argentina, the people were splitted between 'Soda Stereo' and 'PR y sus redonditos de ricota' (a.k.a 'Los redondos'). Los redondos have a music more oriented to political things than the other groups, except for Charly García and a few more that i'm missing. They were also more like a pure rock band here, except for the last two albums that were more oriented to metal.

Here are a few more themes of Los Redondos if you liked them

Soda Stereo has a more changing sound, and more likely to an european band maybe. Each album is totally different from the previous and the next, but they keep the essense of the band, moving between Rock, pop, alternative rock, new wave(only the first album). Try listening some themes of this four albums(Signos, Canción Animal, Doble Vida, Comfort y música para volar(MTV unplugged). Those albums are great.

Chacarita Juniors

The artist formerly known as ronnifan9
Rap: Control Machete, Cartel De Santa.

Norteña: Los Invasores de Nuevo Leon, Los Tigres del Norte, Los Cadetes de Linares, Chalino Sanchez, Ramon Ayala.

Rock-Ska-Reggea: Molotov, Caifanes-Jaguares, Soda Estereo...La Maldita Vecindad, Manu Chau (Mano Negra), Fabulosos Cadillacs, Café Tacuba...Zona Ganjah.

Reggaeton is atrocious and it's not Mexican music...Maestro Zidane...it's primarily Puerto Rican based music.

Cumbias are the best music to dance to, merengue as well.

Currently listening to Molotov's "Gimme The Power" (H) I love me some Molotov.

If I have to recommend one song, Cartel de Santa's "La Pelotona"...

The best music to dance is Salsa or Tango. I'm not a really big fan of Cumbia, way too repetitive and boring, at least that's how school dances used to be.
