Tiago_10 said:Here, Makélélé is saying he wants to retire, that it's difficult to deal with so many games but has no other option than to continue.

Also, it's obvious Mourinho uses that word to create impact, meaning that Makélélé isn't forced to do slavery work, it's not to be taken literally, geez.
It's not like you don't have other stars on the bench who can replace him though... it's just one player.pede54 said:Well as I understand it, Makalele told Domenech after the World Cup final that he will quit the National team for good. It was a verbal resignation and now Domenech is saying that Makaklele did not put his intentions in writing so as far as Domenech is concerned, Makalele is still available to be called up for the French team. Makalele has said this week that he will play for France if thats what he has to do to avoid trouble, but he would prefer to retire from the National team, because of his age he said that playing International games will make his season difficult to endure. Personally I would think that a verbal resignation should be good enough for Domenech and the FFF. I think it shows very little gratitude and respect to Makekle to force him to play when he does not want to.
