MOTD "probable" for 03/04 season coverage

Accoding to an article in the Express BBC's Match Of The Day is most probably going to have the highlights for the 03/04 and 04/05 Premiership season. BBC have just about clinched a new contract worth millions of pounds. ITV are not likely to try and renew the current contact because of the huge losses suffered during the collapse of ITV digital and low viewings for the Premiership on ITV1.

This is good news for me, i've never really liked the Premiership on ITV1. They don't show enough of the smaller games.:kader:

Great, now we can have proper match coverage again. We have live games here in Holland as well, but the commentary is so extremely bad that I'm tempted to just turn off the sound. Thy're constantly naming the wrong players and more of that ****.

It's not live coverage it's only highlights on Saturday nights

Brilliant!

I've never liked ITV's coverage of the Premiership at all - the ideas were poor, the presentation was poor, and having all of those adverts inbetween.

I remember my dad once threatened to complain to ITV because they showed some Man Yoo game for about 20-odd minutes, and showed about 2 minutes of the Merseyside Derby, one of the biggest games in the Premiership season.

Oh yeah I missed the MOTD theme tune as well... (H)

This is great news.

ITV's The Premiership is one of the worst shows on the telly. If it were not football I would stay well clear of it.

The introduction of the ill-fated 'tactics van' with Andy Townsend and the idiotic 'pro-zone' showed how stupid the people at ITV is.

And with 'quality' pundits like Robbie Earle, the mentioned Townsend and Ally McCoist, I think the programme is slowly turned into a joke.

Not to mention the ridiculous coverage they give to the smaller clubs.

It was so stupid that it wasn't even funny. What made ITV think that the 'tactics van' would ever work?

if MOtD is gonna return, its nothing but good news for villa fans....it means that we get to see our club for about a minute longer when compared to the premiershít. also, it means that there will no longer be any excessive manyoo arse-kissing. WOOHOO!

i know, but the channel I'm watching here in holland (RTL5) is ****ing up in the highlights as well. They just don't know much about the league, the clubs, the players and the whole feeling that surrounds the EPL.

I remember that the fake-pundits on ITV kept writing us off everyweek. Even when we got level with Arsenal.

Robbie Earle needs a slap.
