I find it funny how so many people on this site bash America, yet they watch American TV shows, American movies, listen to music made by Americans, etc.
People hate the USA because we are the most powerful nation in the world. If England was the most powerful country in the world, or Australia, or Mexico, people would hate on them too.
As someone said before, if the USA sucked so much, then tons of immigrants wouldn't come here. We don't just get Mexicans, we get people from all over the world, and we probably have more immigrants than any other country.
For those who think that "Americans are stupid," if we were so dumb, then we wouldn't be the most powerful nation in the world with the biggest economy. We are definitely doing something right. We may not have the hardest High Schools, but we do have pretty good colleges.
In the USA, everyone has a chance to succeed. I love this country and it pisses me off when people generalize the USA. It's really stupid to say things like "Americans are dumb" or "Americans are fat." Yeah, maybe some Americans are dumb, and maybe some are fat, but we aren't exactly the only country with dumb or fat people.

The USA would be nothing without Britain. It's not as if the only true Americans(the native Americans), were able to do anything until they got help. You act like the USA was built overnight.
PS: The USA is DEFINITELY not the greatest economical power, right now anyways. Same for politics. You can't consider yourself the best at politics, because:
1. Politics has no winners or loser. Politics is a game of opinions.
2. A lot of people hate the USA, and a lot of that has to do with their foreign affairs. Politics doesn't just mean domestic outlook, which either way is problematic. Especially when you have Jessie-*******-Ventura being elected for a governmental office.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with Jesse Ventura running and then winning the race to be the governor of Minnesota. He is a very smart man who was a Navy Seal. If he ran for President this year, I would want him to win. He would be a better candidate than Bush or Kerry. Just because he was a wrestler doesn't mean that he shouldn't have been elected. He is well educated and had prior political experience.

I'm sure that if you asked an Aussie where Superbowl I was held they'd have no idea, and American geography is not, for the most part, an Aussie speciality. You'd quite possibly get people saying things 'Carolina' or 'Florida' just because their knowledge isn't that good.
Anyhoo, obviously there are cretinous people all over the world, and stupid people too. The fact that rejects from my own country keep perpetuating these myths is a source of great embarrassment.
