Well Capa, we've surpassed the days of expansion. The world has been discovered. Now it should be a matter of cooperation amongst nations and there needs to be an overlying one goal of ONE idealogical mindset. And the mindset that most expands on the progress of humanity and the innate right to life, at least in modern times, appears to be democracy...I don't blame us for thinking our way is the best way. Why? Because for the most part what we live under allows us to live our lives rather peacefully and allows us to do what we choose. Isn't it fair to say we want that opportunity for everyone in the world?
What you have written here is completely true and i do not disagree at all.
And yes we should try to do everything we can so everybody around the world can taste the benefits of democracy.
However, there is difference between wanting everbody to live with democracy, and forcing them to live in democracy.
Lets take Iraq as an example,
Bringing democracy was the whole idea..
But look what happened now?
Was there a civil war in Iraq when Saddam was incharge?
Was there car bombs exploding everyday?
Was Iraq in danger of being in a civil war and divided into 3 ethic regions?
I know what you are going to say,
Saddam was a monster, he killed innocent people.
Yes he was a monster, and yes he did killed innocent people
But you dont have to agree or even like the guy.
You have see the big picture here,
You cant go around the world and tell people what is
right or
wrong.
Iraqi people was better off with Saddam, if not Saddam with a dictator like him.
Again; you dont have to like it or agree with it.
But you have to learn to get along with it. Because not everybody around the world is same.
Some people likes sweet, some likes sour, but some hates both and just aims for the spice.
Thats how people are.
And isnt that what the true democracy is all about?
ps- i dont want you to focus on Saddam because it was just an example , lets stay focussed on the topic
