Run DMB;2445669 said:Apparently, MLS will raise the salary cap from $2.1 million per team to $2.25 million for next season. That's a 7% increase. A more modest increase than some had hoped for, but an increase nonetheless. By my calculations, if MLS raises the cap by 7% every year from now on, the salary cap will be $4.1 million ten years from now. Which is only 3 million in 2007 dollars. Still, that wouldn't be too bad.
The number of foreign players allowed per team is going up from 7 to 8. Also, the league is going to abolish the "Senior International/Youth International" designations. From now on, all foreign players count towards the same total.
Too lazy to actually look up the links for this info.

D.C. United apparently has an offer for Troy Perkins from a team in Norway, and is shopping around MLS for a replacement
the team is my Vålerenga, can someone tell me something about him?
EDIT: Well now he is 100% ours.. for 5 years.
Hepoas;2451811 said:I don't know. Vålerenga won't say anything. We have heard he won the best goalie MLS award this year, that is correct?
Perkins is a pretty good keeper. I didn't rate him very highly initially, but he's put together two nice seasons in MLS. He's nothing spectacular, but he's a fine shot-stopper, quick off this line, and good with crosses as well. Other MLS players of similar ability have gone to Norway and done well for themselves (Adin Brown, Ramiro Corrales, Brian West), so I don't see why he couldn't find success there as well.Hepoas;2451778 said:http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/12/11/AR2007121102166.html?sub=new

Woah! Where's he been since he left Man United? Last I remember Reineri had signed him to Chelsea and was calling him "the best in the world" (not that I have a good memory, I was in england while it happened so I have that edition of the sun as a souvenir). I haven't heard from him since.El Diablo Rojo;2452864 said:Verón confirmed by himself today that he will be going to D.C. United.
