Who said Dos Santos would play? Ronaldo was in the USA '94 Champion Brazil team yet he never played. I highly doubt Cuau will be called, after what he did. Bofo is a good choice, I will personally call Castro from America and De Nigris from Pumas.
De Nigris is crap. Castro would just be a joy to watch 'cause he's from America.

De Nigris, nice joke....you just made me throw up from hearing such a ridiculous ignorant statement. He was a good player in the beginning but fell and failed miserably after been called up to the national team. I think that he's ego grew too much for what his actual talent was....

According to this website (www.mediotiempo.com) Lavolpe gave a Pre list for the 2006 World Cup during a radio interview in Mexico City today. Here is the Pre List Lavolpe talked about in the radio show.

JUGADORES PRÁCTICAMENTE SEGUROS (Players practically with a sure spot for the World Cup)

Oswaldo Sánchez
Carlos "Superman o Guerrero" Salcido
Ricardo Osorio
Rafa Márquez
Salvador "Chava" Carmona (si le reducen sanción) if his sanction is reduced
Hugo Sánchez o Aarón Galindo (si le reducen sanción) " "
Gonzalo Pineda "Gonzo"
Gerardo Torrado "Borrego"
Pável Pardo "Bebe"
Luis Pérez "Luisito"
Antonio Naelson "Sinha"
Francisco "El Kikin" Fonseca
Jared Borgetti "Desert Fox" since he is England or I would have said El Zorro del Desierto
Jaime "Jimmy" Lozano
Ramón Morales "Ramoncito"

A CONSIDERAR

Cuauhtémoc Blanco "Cuah o el jorobado de tepito"
Jesús "El Cabrito" Arellano
Adolfo "Bofo" Bautista

So according to this website Lavolpe has 13 or 15 (depending on Chava Carmona and Aaron Galindos suspension been reduced to 6 months) sure players for the World Cup. This means that there are stil 10 or 8 spots remaining for the final World Cup list. As you can see from the Pre List Lavolpe did not name el Guille Franco. IMO Lavolpe is only going to take 1 naturalized player to the World Cup, either Zinha or guille franco. If he does take both players, i am quite sure and positive that only 1 of the 2 will be a starter.

Who ever would like to finish the list by naiming 10 or 8 players they would take or are fighting for the spots that are left for the World Cup is welcomed to do so....

It seems that for Mexico's game on November 16 in Houston the national team of Bulgary is going to take their best players of their nation. I think this will be a very interesting game.

That defence is pathetic.

Elo Ratings
sweet, the Mexican away jersey look freaking awesome !

Mexico lost 3 - 0 to Bulgaria.....

No more Daniel Osorno or Juan Pablo Rodriguez, but especially Guillermo Franco. As i see it Franco is not a player for the Mexican national team, the jersey is to heavy on him (le pesa la camiseta) he is trying to play like he plays in Monterrey by carrying the team all by himself but he just can't. If Lavolpe takes him to the World Cup, he can't be a starter maybe an interesting substitute when the circumstances call for him. The best Mexican player was Carlos Salcido IMO. Instead of Franco Lavolpe needs to call Cuahtemoc but since I don't see this happening any time soon, the next best option is el Bofo Bautista....

I think Mexico has a good group for the World Cup.

Group D:
Mexico
Iran
Angola
Portugal

IMO the last game between Mexico and Portugal is going to determine who finishes in first place....

List of players called up for the friendly match against Hungary on Dec. 14:

Goalies: Jesús Corona (Tecos UAG), Guillermo Ochoa (América).

Defense: Francisco Rodríguez (Guadalajara), Ricardo Osorio (Cruz Azul), Joel Huiqui (Cruz Azul), Ismael Rodriguez (América), Alberto Rodríguez (Cruz Azul), José Antonio Castro (América), Antonio Olvera (Santos Laguna).

Midfield: Andrés Guardado (Atlas), Carlos Medina (Atlas), Juan Pablo Rodríguez (Tecos UAG), Gerardo Torrado (Cruz Azul).

Forwards: Adolfo Bautista (Guadalajara), Francisco Fonseca (Cruz Azul), Alonso Sandoval (Jaguares), Omar Bravo (Guadalajara), Alberto Medina (Guadalajara).

The French federation has confirmed a friendly game against Mexico to prepare for the World Cup on May 27 at St. Denis Stadium with all of its star players.....

The Dutch Federation has confirmed a friendly match against Mexico to prepare for the World Cup on May 30 at Amsterdam....

I'm about 90% sure I'll go to that game vs. South Corea, Cuauhtemoc Blanco might be on Lavolpe's list by then (feb. 15th).

btw, there is a HUGE South Corean community in Los Angeles so I expect good stadium atmosphere. Loud.

This is the list of players selected by Lavolpe for the 1st friendly match of the year against Norway. As you may have noticed he did not call up any of Chivas players so that they will be able to play against colo colo to enter the Copa Libertadores.

Goalies: José de Jesús Corona (UAG), Guillermo Ochoa (América).

Defense: Mario Méndez (Monterrey), Óscar Rojas (América), Edgar Dueñas (Toluca), Duilio Davino (América), Fernando Salazar (Pachuca), Joel Huiqui (Cruz Azul), Antonio Olvera (Santos), Andrés Guardado (Atlas).

Midfield: Pável Pardo (América), Antonio Naelson (Toluca), Luis Pérez (Monterrey), Juan Pablo Rodríguez (UAG).

Forwards: Cuauhtémoc Blanco (América), Francisco Fonseca (Cruz Azul), Rafael Márquez Lugo (Morelia), Daniel Osorno (Atlas).
