Concerning not having 5 star teams at the start, or not being able to play teh ECC in the first season:

This is pointless a attempt by ea to force people to play the game for longer, thus increasing gameplay time.

In previous versions, obviously they couldn't rely on their gameplay alone to attract people to keep on playing for a whole year... which i think is unfortunate because in fifa2006 i think they just can

In addition of course, this will improve their sales of their Champions League game.

I think fifa 2006 is a great game (i've played both pes5 and fifa 2006, and i think its more a case of different strokes for different people, rather than of pes5 having overwhelmingly outright better gameplay)... however, bs like this really pisses me off...

I don't want to play a 15 yr game
hell i don't want to be a manager if it affects the team/tournaments i can participate in. There are full fledged manager games out in the market for that

I want to play a football game, with the added advantage of recreated teams AND tournaments of the current season WITHOUT having to play one entire season (at the end of which i'm bored anyway), and then play the ECC with some swedish 3rd division side in my group

bottom line, in fifa 2006 i wanna play the complete 2005/2006 league season, with any team i want, with all the tournaments, with the correct teams, as i will want to do with fifa2007 for the 2006/2007 season. Thats the complete experience i'm looking for. Add all the manager and unlocking crap as long as ti doesn't affect this basic concept

I agree 100% with what you wrote...
All this manager stuff ( a.k.a career mode ) and unlocking bonus drives me crazy. And Fifa will NEVER have the deepness and level of a true manager game anyway...
but we are a minority to think like this, most of the gamers want that.
And keep in mind that the average gamer plays always with his (her ) favorite team, don't care about the others and get fed up after a few weeks....
That's why EA won't change anything. Sad but true

yeah y don't they let u have a scoring system lyk from pes where u can get points from normal matches but also maybe a better scoring system like they had for ucl in the actual season when you would be rated on your performance, i think thats a better alternative for unlockables but come on ea put the things that we dont really need from the start into unlockables and all the leagues and cups out so we can play them straight away!!!
