matrix revolution (WARNING: Spoilers)

I am pretty sure that in the end of the movie the matrix is reloaded by the machines.

I think this is pretty obvious as you can tell in the conversation between the oracle and the archietect. She asks him what he is going to do about the people that want to be freed from the matrix.... and he says that he is going to unplug them.... however he is ONLY TALKING ABOUT THE PEOPLE THAT WANT TO BE FREED, not EVERYONE! The oracle also says that "CHANGE ALWAYS IS" (a difficult time) and I believe she is refering to the Matrix... change always is a difficult time for everyone no matter what, but they reload the Matrix and reset everything so no body knows, the only difference is that the program has been once again unpgraded to a more perfect world.

I also believe that smith didn't die because he killed Neo and Neo was his last enemy, that doesnt make any sense. Think about it, if his objective was to take over everything in the matrix, then he would have died BEFORE Neo even entred the matrix at the end of the movie... because everyone else would have been taken over. And even AFTER he kills Neo at the end of the movie... there is still people that can be plugged into it... eg. Morpheus, Nioby and everyone else! So if Smith had to kill everything in the matrix or everything that could be plugged into it, he will have to kill Neo, along with everyone else.

I still think Neo killed him from the inside out.

Morpheus dissapointed me, I thought he would have some larger roll in the third movie, he would become of some importance. He didn't he just seemed to fade away after the first movie and thats what annoyed me.

Also I remember seeing in this forum a picture about the matrix movies... it was a white picture... I think on page 4 or something.... I Cannot remember... but that picture said that Neo entered the other door for the love of trinity, and that zion was destroyed and so was the matrix, I also dont believe that, after he saved zion and caused a peace and the matrix was reloaded in the end of the movie.

:)

EDIT: There is also proof that the matrix IS NOT destroyed... the new vido game... (i think called Matrix online) is based after the third video and has the matrix in it.... if the matrix is destroyed in the third movie, then how can it still be in the video game? So the matrix isn't destoroyed, it is just reloaded.

Well Here is my 2 cents

The Oracle said that Smith was Neos Opposite and also alot of crap about the formulas. So then once Smith killed Neo the Formula was even out. But then the fight between Smith and Neo should of been Totally Even but it wasnt Smith was sorta beating Neo then Neo let himself lose. Like someone else said a couple of pages ago.

Neo was at the Train Station because when he destroyed those sentinals in the second movie it was too much for him he wasnt ready for it then so he was stuck in an in between world for some reason

Well..... after reading some of your opinions,.

I'll judge the movie in different views.

This movie alone was horribly put together, but i guess it was a "money" making decision. I mean, why not release both the last episodes as a one. It would have made more sense, and be more good to the story. They completely killed the series, by making the fans wait so long for just this.

Now as a post-modern fan. I'm not that much, but i am disapointed. I loved the idea of finally bringing the real world into the picture, and get to see what the animatrix episodes promised. Then again they f it up. Where are the robots that fought so fiercely for survival? All robots are now nothing but slaves? I dont get it. Now let's bring Zion into the picture. They're living with an inminent treat , and yet people live and act as if nothing was wrong...... I still dont get it. Now to the fight scene. How come all we see are centinels , some half ass thought up drilling things, under 50 infantry troops, and the famous "ships". The Brothers surely ran out of ideas, or atleast out of money to pay for a bigger scale fight. Now, you would think that after so many previous invasions of Zion, the machines would have come up with a better strategy for destroying it. If the machines controlled the destiny of zion, why not make the job of cleaning up a little easier.

The entire council thing was nothing but a filler. These people are supposed to be the leaders who have kept the people safe from the machines for a long time( another contradiction). Yet, all they do in this film is ask moronic questions to a morpheos, whos character was completly destroyed ,and to a comander who plays a very, very ludicrous part.

Now the movie is not bad. Why?. Thanks to the almost outdated, but still fine special effects, and the ability of the brothers to push everything to the max. Still, as a philosophical movie......wait.... I laugh at the thought of it being somewhat philosophical. I won't even bother at looking for
"answers". In a simple line. It's all a bunch of nicely wrapt up crap. What does it mean?... umm...nothing!!. The Brothers are good at making films, it is undoubtly proven. Though, they still are way off in making a good stories.

It nice to see, people agree it was crap. Actually is so much crap, that it'll make millions. What am i saying.... It will even take a couple of oscars to complete the craptacular package.

instead of just come here and flame the movie, read our posts and maybe you'll get 'why did smith explode'

Dominic

i did read the rest of the fourm and there is one guess on why smith exploded, as smith was not programed to take over the matrix but to control it, the theory is aload of bullocks

Hakeem

Superman
nah, the other, and the one that makes most sense for now but still has some problems, is the one about exploding cuz there's isnt anyone else in the matrix to absorb, so he's useless now which gets him deleted.

That theory doesn't work because Smith would have taken over everyone before Neo even entred the matrix and therefore he would have been deleted before Neo ever went in to fight him.

The only reason I can think of it working is that Smith just wants to control everything in the matrix and then destroy Neo aswell...

But it still doesn't explain anything, because even AFTER smith had destroyed Neo and everything in the matrix he would spread around the machine world.... didn't anybody hear Neo say this to the machine boss guy?

So after Smith HAD destoyed Neo AND everything in the matrix he would have still lived on.... trying to get into the machine world.

The reason he exploded I think is because Neo has done the same thing he did in the first movie, taken him from the inside out... but he has used the help of the machines.... they pushed force into him.... and that would explain the part where we see Neo in the orange/red type view when he is all plugged in and the machines look as if they are inserting something into him. I know it sounds pretty simple but I reckon it is right.

One other theory that my friend had is that there is a glitch in the Matrix... like in the first one where Neo sees the cat twice.... Smith says he has seen the end before... and the glitch caused Smith to be destroyed.

I don't get any of it though.... Neo says he is the only one that can destoy Smith... the oracle says Neo is the only one that stands in Smiths path.... When smith takes over Neo that smith smiles and nods (as Neo would) after being asked if 'it is over?' and then he starts to break up (like in the first movie when Neo FLEW into smith) and then they all destroy.

They need a movie "The MATRIX: Explained" so we all know what they were trying to do.

I think the whole movie is based on what we think though... it is our CHOICE to believe what we want to believe about the whole thing, what the ending means, how smith dies, is the matrix reloaded? do the movies contradic themselves? It's all up to choice. :)

Regardless, we all must agree with was a bloody big let down? I loved the first too and really expected so much more from the ending.

I just watched it for the second time.
still the zion vs machines fight is amazing, and the final battle between neo and smith is spectacular too (all the flying fight made me thought of what a Dragon Ball Z movie would be like :$ :p ).

trinity's long death is very long indeed, but its great, cuz come on, she's dying, she deserves that scene. she's an icon.

now, why did neo end up in the train station? still not completely explained.
The oracle said to him: "you were suposed to be taken to the source, but you weren't ready, so you should've died, but aparently, you weren't ready for that either"

at the end, I still cant think of a great explanation of why all that happened. smith says all that that he's seen how it all ends, and at the end he stops, and he says: "Im suposed to say something... everything that has a begining has an end" (what the oracle said before) and the neo tells him: "are you afraid?" and then's where smith absorbs neo, the machines give him powera and smith-neo explodes, then all start exploding, and finally smith-oracle explodes too.
I think neo gave himself to smith, so the machines could kill him thru him. thats the best explanation I have.

neo died? I pretty sure he did.
firstly, because what the oracle says to the little girl: "we'll see him again... someday" like when the next Neo comes, not this one.
and secondly, and most important, because, as I said before, being trinity dead, its no good to have neo live. it would be like the wachowskys dont care for their love.

the worst thing about the movie? Morpheus is not used at all. he just answers meanningless questions to everybody and is there to be copilot of the very muscle-ly niobe :( :p

just came back watching it..

first question: y did peresphone go pack to merovingie? did he make her eat another cake?

2nd : i didn't catch the conversation between the indians and neo in the train station. explain.

3rd : after niobe hugged morpheus, niobe's stead wasn't shown at all.. what happened to him? was he happy or did he stand in front of a wall and banged his head?

awesome movie. niobe's a kickass pilot. sentinals are cool. especially when they were in swarms.. and the scene where the numerous machines joined up to form a face.. when that emerged, i thought it was some sort of a 'final boss' in an RPG.. lol.. neo should be returned to the source, that's what i suspect..

Remember Callan,

Neo is +1
Smith is -1.

Once Smith absorbed him, I think the equation equalled out, therefore the Matrix Crashed, and Smith was deleted.

As for Neo? No idea.

Yeah i know all that. I have read 100s of theories on all this stuff lol.

0.0 is an equal equation to 1 + -1....

1 is balanced, -1 isn't... the oracle created Smith as an unbalancing of Neo... as Neo is 'the sum of a remainded of an UNBALANCED equation in the matrix'

more stuff on what Hakeem said...

I do not think that Neo can die in the real world, only in the matrix. he is like some imortal or something.... when he dies or passes away before he is ment to... he goes to the train station. Remember what the trainstation is? It is a place that is created to bring back 'unwanted programs' into the matrix. Neo, not being a program, and not being ready for death, is trappen in a world between here and the matrix after he is 'meant' to pass away in the real world... I believe.

About the ending thingy.... when Smith says all that stuff... "i am spose to say something here.... Everything that has a begining has an end..."

two possibilites:

1. the oracle has the power over smiths head and she is letting Neo know that she is there, she knows what to do and there is some hidden mesage that we need to work out.

2. there is a glitch in the matrix. Deshavu.... You see the black cat twice and they have changed something. they... the machines? Changed Smith, killed smith... I like that theory, I haven't read anyone else on the internet say it, but I picked it up just after watching the first movie before I went to see the last one.... and my friend told me once Smith said it... "there is a glitch in the matrix, he has seen it all before and he is saying what has already been said!"

I dont know for sure how Smith is dead, or if Neo is dead. I am unsure of everything. But it is up to us to believe what we want to believe.
