I've gotten the feeling that there's so many VERY overrated players in FM2006 (more than in the previous versions).
Example:
Look at Sampdoria's defensive midfielder Sergio Volpi compared to maybe the worlds best playmaker, Andrea Pirlo.
Volpi has all the stats Pirlo has, some a few notches better, some a few notches weaker. But overall, he looks like just as good a playmaker as Pirlo. And, in addition to this, he has the defensive qualities of a player like Gattuso (a tad weaker on a few skills, but still...).
A player like this would surely be more recognised in real life than what is the case with Volpi, am I not right? Come on, he has better skills than Lampard and Steven Gerrard!
And Volpi is not the only player who is very overrated. Angelo Palombo on Sampdoria is almost identical to Volpi, Marseille's Lorik Cana is a defensive god, and Atletico Madrid's goalkeeper Leo Franco is just as good as Gianluigi Buffon, and still he hasn't got a single cap for Argentina, aged 27.
There are loads of other examples as well, so am I missing something?
I know that there is a Reputation skill, where Potential, Current Ability etc. is represented, but this doesn't play a very big role, right? It's the visible skills that decides how good the player is, if I'm not completely wrong (though, I may be).
