Ballard44’s FIFA 2004 roster update
As of – May 15th, 2005
Updated using DBEdit v3.2 (very cool program)
MOST IMPORTANT – I used Mutiger’s most recent roster as basis for my work. Credit MUST be given to him and anyone else who helped in his roster update!!!
--note-- I think I used Mutiger’s rosters. I don’t have the roster ZIP file anymore so I’m not 100% sure, but… J
remember to start a NEW career if you use these files…delete all your saved ‘career’ files, too, so that your rosters don’t ‘double’ up
Leagues/Teams that were updated
1) EPL
2) Coca-Cola championship
3) German Bundesliga 1 and 2
4) French LFP 1 and 5 LFP 2 clubs
5) Spanish Primera and Segunda
6) Italian Serie A and B
7) Dutch Eredivisie
8) Scottish PL
9) Benfica, Sporting, and FC Porto
10) Olympiakos, Panathinaikos, Sparta Prague, Fenerbahce, Anderlecht, and Rosenborg (all teams that made the CL group stage)
Work that was done and notes –
1) Hundreds of player transfers, especially in the lower leagues
2) Correct jersey numbers for 95% of the players according to team websites, with…
3) Players wearing jersey #’s 50-59
a) = players who more then likely play for that club
b) = players whose team websites didn’t have the players #
c) = players who WILL transfer to that club on JULY 1st 2005 (beginning of transfer season), but haven’t received a # yet
4) Players wearing jersey #’s 80-99
a) = players who more then likely DO NOT play for that club anymore
b) = players who did play for them this past season, but whose contracts have been or will be terminated
c) NOTE - there are a few players who actually use the #’s 80-99, but very few
5) All teams had their starting lineups re-adjusted w/ the best players (according to value) starting…the main reason I spent all my time doing this!!! So now when I play Barcelona in the CL, they aren’t missing 3 or 4 better players
6) Also, only players who actually play for that club are in the starting line-up…meaning many of the lower league teams have players who are much better that aren’t starting because they don’t play for that club anymore (jersey #’s 80-99). There are some teams who had so few actual players left that I had to use former players, but this is pretty rare
7) Como isn’t in the Italian Serie B anymore, so I changed them to Genoa using Genoa’s players. River Plate became Fenerbahce w/ Fenerbahce players. I wasn’t able to do anything to Ternana of Italian Serie B because their website was always down
8) All leagues have the correct promotions and relegations as of the 04/05 year. (I will update this in a month as Leagues are close to ending their season’s) also, the Italian Serie A only has 18 teams (20 in RL) in it because EA did poorly in acquiring licensing. Though easily done, I didn’t want to risk putting 20 teams in there and having your game go to sh*t!!!
--note-- I’m sure most of u know this, but clubs that are promoted or relegated in an editor (DBEdit 3.2) will not have their team logo show up in your schedule. So if you’re playing in the EPL, Crystal Palace, Norwich, and WBA’s logo will not appear on your team’s schedule…don’t worry though, you WILL play them each twice and it doesn’t effect anything else
9) I adjusted 100’s of players values (especially younger talent) trying to match their FIFA 05 values…I spent 95% of this time making players better and rarely lowered a players value
10) Corrected the in-game terminology of the UEFA Champion’s League, UEFA Cup, and some of the League Cup’s…so, no more ECC crap J
Things that I didn’t or won’t do in the future –
1) create any new players…way too much work and hassle
Future requests, updates, and notes –
1) every 2 weeks I will update (until I buy FIFA 06) the next update will be on June 1st…
2) I left many of the players who are out on loan on their current team…Until the season’s end, I didn’t want transfer these players back because they might wind up staying or signing w/ that club
3) If there are any mistakes, let me know and I will update (again, changes will take place every 2 weeks, so don’t get mad if I don’t do it right away)
4) if you send a request, please help me out by telling me exactly what needs to be done. And unless there’s a glaring mistake in a player’s value, please don’t mail me to say that Wayne Rooney should be valued at a 90 and not an 88
5) I probably won’t update any other teams…I’m tired of looking at these rosters and updating the Swedish League isn’t something that appeals to me
6) Are there any mistakes???? YES!!! I’m sure there are a few #’s wrong and such, so let me know!!!
