For 99% sure Marco van Basten will become the new 'bondscoach' of Holland.
This morning the Dutch FA (KNV has formally done a request at Ajax to do talks with Marco van Basten and the new assistant John van 't Schip, both trainers from Ajax.
Ajax has said they will not be in the way of van Basten and van 't Schip and has allowed them to go.
The KNVB-chairman got talks with Cruijff at monday to asked him for advice and van Basten and van 't Schip are Cruijff's number 1 candidate.
According to all parties it's just a matter of signing the contracts and no financial problems are expected.
Holland will build at a new, young team after Stam, Overmars and Frank de Boer resigned to international football (maybe more to follow, like Cocu). The KNVB-chairman said they sign a contract for 4 years and he only expect Holland to do well at the EURO2008 tournament. He thinks qualifying for Germany 2006 may be a hard nut to crack with all of those new young players, so he did not demand qualifying for Germany.
