So what if he uses drugs ? He lived a life we can all only dream of. THE greatest footballer to ever play the game. (Brazilians will disagree but they are wrong) He is worshipped by almost everyone who plays and loves this game. He gets the best pussy in town. He eats, drinks and has fun. pele was good but in those days the other players where just not that good, i mean look at footbal since the late 80's and look at football before. They played slow soccer in pele's days and pele was just ahead of his time, this made him so mutch better than the rest. Since the late 80's the level of soccer was way higher and so it was mutch more difficult to stand out, so i have to say maradonna was and still is the best.

What he did with al the drugs and ****, i don't care i rate hime on what he did on the field.

And on the bright side, maybe maradona's son is going to be the next diego.

agreed....i think its unfair to compare them because the game was diefferent in the 80's....was there offside or sweeper systems in pele's early days???

but there are players in the 1970 brazil team that would make zidane or totti look like heskey,,,,,and im serious!!

man nowadays the ball itself is so light and revolutionary that it goes in by itself.....the ball they used to play with in the past was heavy and hurts heads hehe

so true...that is just whay I think.... The english and Brasilians always use the drug excuses to pull the man down, but they never really admire him as a player....he could do what no other player could....the English and Brasilians are blind in that aspect and tend to want to use his "outside life" as an excuse to put him down, but they really sound "envious" when they say that because they really couldn't pull out a player of that caliber....

Thats what I believe also, people can't admit he is the best ever, so they tend to look at his personal life, something which people shouldn't even be looking at, who are people to jugde what is good and what is bad, judge him in the field, and then you will see who is the best....please....

I say that everyone who brings up a discussion about Maradona and Pele should get a yellow card....it gets so annoying, and leads to stupid fights and it seems that everytime that someone posts something about Maradona, Brasilians come in and flood the thread with anti-maradona comments or pro-pele comments....

You know what, when I say english people, I don't mean you , I mean English in general....thats what is usually said in every forum...I am not happy to see him the way he is today, but that is the life he chose, and I don't understand why people make ignorant comments like "Oh that fat drug consuming bastard", when in reality no one should be commenting on his personal life because it does not affect them; the only ones with rights to complain is his daughter and his wife, but the only critiquing people should be doing is on his playing and nothing else.....but it seems like most Brasilians have an "insecurity" in the sense that everytime someone mentions Maradona they have to bring Pele into the picture and how "great" they think he was, or they have to "compare" him all the time....get over it, they were both great soccer stars, you cannot compare them, they played in different eras....
