Of course but all 3 strikers are 28 or more and that's not good for the future. In 3 years time they'll be slow and declining and Welbeck will be at his peak.

Its got nothing to do with complaining out our current forwards, they are brilliant.

Were complaining about the sale of "THE" local lad who's come through all stages of the United family. Followed from the age of 6, signed at the age of 8, tutored by United legends, managed by the most successful manager in British history... and then sold.

Hes always had talent & silky skills, buckets of it, but unfortunately for him was mostly played out of position due to the caliber of players around him. He should of been loaned out to get more game time, ready for when our aging strike force moved on or pushed out from his ever improving skills.

:nape: shoddy piece of business to say the least. The only solace I take from this is that it leaves players like Wilson open to success who would potentially not be playing if Welbeck was around. With any luck he progresses well.

Just started watching. WTF is that formation? Diamond 4-4-2 with 2 wingers, 1 DM, 1 AM and no central midfielders. 2-1 so far though.

I only watched the 2nd half but we were very very lucky once again to have won. Herrera was sorely missed. Strange that LvG decided to go with a diamond 4-4-2 with no central midfielders. It was pretty obvious that we couldn't control the game without a central midfielder. Mata has been once again unimpressive. Should be much more involved than that. Kagawa would have done a better job.

Well Di Maria usually plays CM for us and Valencia occasionally plays there for Ecuador so i don't see what's the problem.

Also Everton had zero shots on goal in the first half, except for the Baines penalty in the end. Second half was worse yes, but don't forget we had McNair and Blackett on at the same time in the end.
After Di Maria seemingly got tired we kinda lost control of the game, not completely, Mata was okay (assisted the first goal), van Persie was his usual poor self. de Gea & Di Maria MOTM?
Edit: Oh and we should've scored more really to be honest.

Most of the time Di Maria plays on the wing when we play him as a "CM" so its more like a left winger and a midfield trio of Blind, Herrera and Rooney/Mata and no true right winger.

Mata had an assist but it wasn't a spectacular one. Di Maria's shot was spectacular especially with his weaker foot.

For the price we paid him for, he should be doing better. No wonder Chelsea got rid of him. His performance is nowhere near his Chelsea days.

McNair seemed to have had a pretty solid game btw. That's good to see but Blackett also had a good start to the season but then had a horrible game against Leicester. Blackett was pretty good when he was brought on as Left back. I would prefer him there than CB.

Yeah that's obvious Di Maria likes to drift to the wing a lot, and when he does, others will cover for him.. No need to point that out.

Now regarding Mata, Chelsea didn't sell him because he was performing badly, he just doesn't contribute a lot defensively. Not suitable for Mourinho, they got a good offer from us and they didn't exactly need him, why not sell? We weren't exactly at the height of our performances at that time either.

If i were van Gaal i'd see if van Persie continues his horrendous form during the time Rooney is suspended, if he does, drop him. He'd make a good backup at this state. I'd rather much prefer Mata as AM and Rooney and Falcao up front, but that's just me. :P

Yeah well they can carry on their love affair somewhere else for all i care. You know in a perfect world i would've liked a 30m offer from Zenit for van Persie at some point, and rather kept Welbeck for backup. I can't believe i'm saying this. I don't even rate Welbeck that highly, the guy scored a couple of goals and the English players overhype begins again. Just wait for the guy to go on a dry spell.
