Rumours that Mata is on his way out in January, apparently he has 'fallen out of favour' with Van Gaal. There must be something about Mata which causes successive top managers not to rate him despite a great record on the pitch and coming across as a thoroughly decent, low ego team player, but (other than perhaps a slight invisibility against really big clubs) I'm buggered if I know what it is.

Also I like how with Balotelli at Liverpool, Costa with us, Adebayor at Tottenham and Rooney at United we all have a top striker who could blow his top at any minute, should be a fiesty season. All except Arsenal and gentleman giroud of couse because as wenger knows it's not winning or losing that matters but how you play the game.

Also, imagine if United dominate these next three games (which they might do as the new guys start to bed in), even though it will probably have had nothing to do with his absence, the fans are already losing patience with Rooney, will they cheer him back into the team under those circumstances?

Ander Herrera has a broken rib. He's out for probably 1 game or 2 I guess. Single broken ribs usually just heal on their own and 2-3 weeks should be enough for recovery. I guess Fletcher will play then. Really good to have him as a backup again.
