That formation was correct. Di Maria as a striker does not have space to run and is offside frequently. He aced last season as left sided midfielder in a 3 man midfield. Why not play him there and Rooney as the striker? This simple switch would make the team click. We have so much possession but QPR have had the better opportunities.
Yeah it was sad to see Falcao become Torres tonight, missed 4-5 great chances ... I guess he just need more games ... but LVG will not pick him over RVP now ...

I don't think Falcao was "awful". His forward runs, determination and eagerness to get the ball was very encouraging. Unfortunately his finishing was not the best. He spent most of the past year injured so it will take time for him to regain his sharpness. He wasn't quite "Torres". At least he could run and put himself into good positions. Torres couldn't do anything with the ball.
The second half performance was so much better with diamond 4-4-2 but still not convincing enough. Di Maria in midfield was so much better. He had space to run.
Di Maria was bad because he played out of position in the first half. I think he did alright in the second half. He could have had 1 or 2 assists. He's not a "waste of money". He has played very well when played in his best position, i.e. left sided midfielder in a 3 man midfield. He has 6 assists and 3 goals in 13 games (i.e. created 9 goals in 13 games).
Wilson has scored an easy goal today, his first goal this season. Despite not scoring much, he has been impressive. He is fast, collective and well composed on the ball.

And i have to say that i don't agree with Wilson starting or even being subsituted in.. I mean what the fuck.. We have Falcao who's at least top5 in the world, regarding strikers, when on form.. Wilson is rubbish and will probably loaned out to Leicester City in a year or so. Falcao not even being on the bench is ridiculous.. Yup that's it.

Falcao was good in patches. At least he was looking for the ball, looked urgent and busy. How can he do his thing, if we're playing the wrong formation, wrong players in wrong positions? ADM is not a striker. Get him back into midfield so he can utilize his skills, Rooney and Falcao upfront.
I feel like we can't really play Carrick and Blind at the same time in the midfield. They're too similar of a player. I would drop Carrick and start either Herrera or Fellaini. Everytime Herrera started, he has looked dangerous and was the one that linked the plays starting from defence to attack.

By the way after Carrick returned from injury we won like 5 games in a row. He's still good, just he needs two other midfielders next to him. His passing is superb at times, he's no Scholes but still.
I'd like to see more of Ander Herrera as well. That's why i agree with Nady, that the diamond formation would be the best to go with. Di Maria....Carrick (Blind)....Herrera with Mata in the hole, Falcao and Rooney starting. But i don't have anything against Rooney playing in the midfield either. I mean he's got the energy, his passes are sometimes Schole'esque etc etc...

I guarantee that the majority of the united fanbase, will be so angry if we got Bale in exchange for DDG. DDG is a WAY more important player than Bale.
