13 injuries is fucking insane ... our main back 4 are completely out ... we are not playing the best football ... but I'm really pleased with 4st spot and results ... it's all about confidence now ... Rooney is on good form and it seems he takes this captain thing very seriously ... RVP doesn't deserve and starting position ... Mata and Alder do.

There are some rumors we will swap Alder with Shaqiri which is good ... I think Alder is so thin for EPL ... but we said the same thing about De Gea ...

Fellaini plays so well at the moment, thanks Moyes ...

People say LVG spent 100m and should get far better results than Moyes ... all signings except Angel are out ... it's literally the same team + Angel ...

What do you think Blackett and McNair will be like in the future? Do you hold high hopes?

They are promising. I have been impressed by them but they don't look like they will be the next top defender. They have been brought in mainly because we have failed to bring in any central defenders and there is always a defender injured or suspended. They will become good backup defenders but I doubt it that they'll become first choice defenders. I could be wrong though.

I was upset when van Gaal took van Persie off as I thought him being on the field gave us our best chance to come back. Has he been that bad all year?

Yup, pretty much. Can't wait for Falcao to regain full fitness again and start playing regularly, so van Persie could be relegated to the place where he belongs - the bench.

De Gea had more touches than him in the first half. RvP had 12 touches of the ball and 3 of these were the corners that he took.

He hasn't been bad "all year". His performance was decent under Moyes' disastrous campagn. As Afwan mentioned, his form dipped significantly after the WC group stage. He was fantastic in the WC group stages but that was it.

I think he needs a break. Needs to sit on the bench. He has the potential of being a good impact sub. I think we should get Mata in next game to give RvP some rest. 4-3-3 with Mata as AMF and Rooney as lone striker or a diamond 4-4-2 (or 5-3-2) with this attack:

-------Di Maria------Rooney--------
----------------Mata-----------------

played shit, 13 injuries, 4th place. get in!

Where did this number come from? We have like 8 injuries at the moment. Some of the players who were injured in the international break like Di Maria have recovered or are recovering.

I almost wonder if all the injuries he's had are starting to catch up with him. He's not a young man anymore. It surprised me when you let Danny go to us because of that.

I honestly believe that when Ferguson bought RvP that season it was meant purely as a one season fix - he gambled (correctly) that spending 24m on that player in that form at that age would make the difference to produce the title that season. I really dont think there was any longer intention. The natural talent of RvP is undeniable but we all know that when a striker with a long, long history of injury problems crosses the age of 30, you cannot predict or guarantee how his form will hold up.

3-0 ... its nice a little win streak ... third in a row
RVP played better and scored, I was mostly impressed by Carrick, Alder and Mata ... very accurate passing, around 80% possession (something for barca fans to masturbate with)

And more injuries ... Angel and Rooney ... hope none is serious ...

Herrera and Mata is god in the match!! I love to see them play together. Hope LVG will start them in next match against Stoke!

For the love of god, please don't say Alder again! Makes my ears (eyes?) bleed. It's Ander. N and L aren't even that close on the keyboard so it can't be a typo.

You do that on purpose!

I just watched the game. That was probably our best performance so far. As I said before, diamond 4-4-2 is our best formation, especially against teams that are mid-table or below. 5-3-2 is reasonable against bigger top 4 teams.

I absolutely agree. The 5-3-2 formation was employed mostly because we had so many injuries, especially in the defence department.

And don't get on the van Persie bandwagon yet, he scored one goal, it was great. Let's see him do it 5 matches in a row.... Same with Welbeck with Arsenal, scored a hat-trick and everybody thought he was the real deal, maybe he will be, although i highly doubt it. Went on a dry spell after that if my memory serves me correct. I just don't think the guy has proper skills to become a world class forward, it doesn't take a genius to notice it.
