i dunno about the next vieira or keane...i mean he's almost 30 i believe.

but he's a good player, and i think he's better than what he's shown at chelsea. i dunno about the "big" clubs, but what was he doing in russia?

Wasn't given a decent chance at Chelsea, hardly surprising though due to the amount of players there is there.

He's got a fierce shot on him though!

for Porto the guy was all over the place, fighting for every ball in midfield

and he allways was great when attacking, especially when shooting on goal

he made a Carlos*ass decision by going to Russia and nearly screwed his career

hopefully with his recent exibitions in the WC he'll be signed in a decent championship, so he can show what he's worth

(united should sign him :))

Its not really accurate to say he wasnt given a chance at Chelsea. He got a few starts and made a few more appearances. I was a stout defender of him, and felt he could be the player we were in for when we signed Ballack (the midfield, attack/defense pivot man)

When he first came in January, he got, I think, three starts, and really impressed many fans especially with his ability to jump right in and his distribution. Then the team began to lose form and he picked up a knock. By the time he was ready to come back the team was mired in the awful slump we he before the games with Barca. As a sub Maniche was bad, but I still defended him and insisted that given the chance and a few games he would impress.

Then in the WestHam game, he got the start, we got scored on and just as things couldnt get any bleaker (the gap with second was narrower than ever) he goes braindead and methodically steps on Etherington's ankle while he is down on the ground. Red Card, gone. That couldve spelled another loss but for the fight in the 10 left on the pitch to score 4 goals, but after that, I was done defending him

But I hope he gets his career back on track and lands at a big club, even in England. His penchant for screamers is really amazing

I thought he was going to Atletico Madrid this season? Celta Vigo had interest in him not so long ago either if I can remember..

Fat Jim Carry! hahaha that's hilarious, I knew he reminded me of someone but I could never quite put my finger on it!

He's more like a box-to-box midfielder. Even though Keane and Vieira attack sometimes, Maniche is a more attacking player than both. He defenately has a good sense of opportunity and a good long range shot. I think he's not gonna stay in Moscow much longer... A totally stupid decision to go there, he's already 28 I believe.

Maniche at his best form, like is showing right now and has shown at the Euro 2004 is simply one of the best midfielders in the world, at least for me.
