And, if we can get Berbatov by a Saha & Brown swap, then it would be facking great. Brown is gonna walk in July and I'd rather not wait for Saha to play 15 games a season, even though I'm a big fan of him.

wow, you are worried because you "only have Saha, Rooney and Tevez"...it's sure nice being rich.

That's what i'm saying. Tevez, Rooney, Saha and Berbatov. Somebody is bound to be unhappy and one player unhappy can be very disinstrumental to the whole team. With the goals we have been scoring, is there really a need for Berbatov? It would be nice to have Totti, Ibrahimovic, Henry as well, but do we need that? I mean do we REALLY need that? If we can do a swap with Brown and Saha, then awesome, but i don't see that happening, all media talks.

I reckon Berbatov would be a brilliant signing. I'm sure there would be all the 'unhappy' talks but having four strikers would be useful. During the West Ham game when Rooney was out with a flu, and we were trailing 2-1, who does Fergie sent on to rescue the game? John O'Shea. I don't have anything against him but he's not a natural center forward or a striker. Tbh, I hope we sign a striker because Saha looks like he can't be arsed in some games and Tevez does have his ineffectual games at times. They need competition to threathen their spots.

Manucho might be good, but i am asking now DOES ANYBODY WATCHED MANUCHO PLAY AT ALL!?!?! Or we just keep ourselves happy over some signing that happened only for Cueiros to get some fresh cash, since all Portugese and Angolan (Angola was ex-Portugese colony) signings are done relying on Cuieros's connections.

Ever since i support and follow United (late 90-s) there have been forwardss coming fresh into the club, and finally going out without achieving anything - Jordy Cruyff, David Bellion, David Healey .. The only strikers succesful in the club were Yorke, Cole, Teddy, Ole and RvN over a decade. All others, including Alan Smith were injury prone and didn't stand out.
So, i hardly believe Manucho will be something big, but let us not be negative about the future. In case he turns out to be furiously good replacement of Rooney - then ok, otherwise search for another striker, cos i don't see future in Saha.

We can't say anything about Manucho atm, because nobody knows him. But I trust SAF's judgement, he knows how good a striker is when he sees one. Give the boy a chance before judging. Atm we are doing fine with Saha, Tevez and Rooney and I am sure that they can get the job done this season. West Ham just like last season was a slip for us, but still we managed to retain the title. Consider the fact that we had a difficult start to the season and look where we are know, Arsenal is having a great season so far, but they must be a little frustrated that we are still on their tail, even after a difficult start to the season

At the end of the day, I'm sure people questioned Ole Solskjaer's signing, and Ferguson has drawn comparisons with him and Manucho's situations. Ferguson said Solskjaer would take a season to settle in, and ended up playing right away. And if all we get from Manucho is some promising substitute appearances, that would be enough. It's just a deal where you have to trust the scouting and management I guess.

"Cuieros's" Portugese based signings haven't been bad so far, Anderson, Nani and Ronaldo. And how you can call Alan Smith injury prone is beyond me, he had a serious leg break you tool, of course he's going to be out for a while after that.

Stotty, you dear tool :), i am not saying the Portugese signings have been bad. I just said, i am sure CUEIROS's (spelling his name correctly isn't cool) scouts have decided on Manucho, nothing more than that.

As of Smith - you may only remember his latest injury, but in fact he was injured at least 2 times during his first 2 seasons at OT, Fergie even played 4-5-1 due to lack of strikers in some games. ;)

Hopeunited, it SO TOTALLY DOES NOT MATTER that Manucho is 24 and Rooney 22. Manucho's chance will be to be Rooney's alternative and replacement for some Carling Cup games, not more than that.
The way Sheringham - over the 30's-, was Yorke and Cole's substitute on that marvelous team in 1999. ;)

Berbatov cannot be swapped for Brown and Saha only. But he can be swapped for them both + cash.

And speaking of new signings, Bosingwa from Porto is tipped to replace Wes and Gary N for the next season, what would you say?
I am very positive on him, he is really impressing RB and can adapt to the team as good as CR and Nani did.

How is everybody watching this game ? It's not on Sky or Setanta. And MUTV obviously isn't showing it. Anyone have any streams ? Thanks.

Scary end of the match as Birmingham was trying to push for the draw, but I am happy with the 3 points. Good goal by Tevez, great combination with Ronaldo to create the goal

Well.................we sure could have had use of Berbatov today and against West ham too!
in times when goal's just fly in ,nobody thinks about when they don't.
today we had 10+ goal chances and 1 goal. I think adding a striker with different skills than Rooney,Tevez and Saha would be a good asset to the team.
if Rooney and co keeps scooring there's no problem but the season is long!!
and if Berbatov would like to be on the bench i don't know but if he wants to move to a big club i guess he wont mind spending some time on the bench!

Btw : Anderson impress me more and more every game!
:X

Yeah, they always seem to raise their game against us, they are slowly turning into our bogey team, but I am still confident that we will end this season on top of the league

I just knew they'd f*ck us up. Obviously they weren't as intent on beating Arsenal today. Ah well we scraped through 1-0 so the damage is minimal. Saw Bardsley playing for Sheffield Utd on Sunday, is he out on loan or have we sold him?

Isn't Kuszczak in the goal?

Yeah, I think he just doesn't want to spell Kuszczak - I call him Tommy K! Has there ever been a harder United name to spell?

At the moment i think it's a loan, but Sheff Utd are very intent on making it permanent. Personally, i'm a big fan of his.

Yeah, Fernandez just typed there VDS before the game and that's why I wrote that.

Kuszczak is the name you should learn to spell well because he's going ( I hope so) to settle in starter 11 for years. (H)(Y)

I think he's a great goalkeeper. I hope young Ben Foster pushes for first team action when he's fit again though.

Thanks for the update Daz. He's always done well for us in the past.
