Along with Rio and CarrickAbsolutely! Wes is a superb backup player. He is not our starting material exactly, but that's only because all the other starting players are playing so damn well. He knows the team from head-to-toe and finding somebody that is just as good as him that will agree to be a backup to Gary will be almost impossible, unless its somebody that is young. Wes is experienced and that will save us a whole lot of headaches and a whole lot of money to spend in other places. People don't really rate Brown that highly, but who cares, he keeps doing a superb job for us and doesn't matter what other people say. And he doesn't talk crap to the media so that some other team would come in and buy him. Great professional and a great player. I'm absolutely delighted.
Seriously guys, who the fu<k would wanna buy Brown? Maybe a championship club, or maybe the Fulhams of this world, but honestly fellas, his availability would hardly start a stampede for his signature would it?

Any person dissing Brown's value has simply not watched the majority of our games with Brown in it. He was part of the central defense with Silvestre in 2002/2003 where they helped keep clean sheets when Rio and Blanc were out. He has been a superb backup, although not as brilliant attacking wise as Gaz or Evra.
Not luck Fili. Our defence has four players. Each of those players contribute to that solid defence that we have this season. I have to admit he was woeful in the first half against Arsenal, but he improved in the second half as the game goes on. Anyway, football is like that.

Browns a good player, without doubt else he wouldn't of been playing all these years. He's a born and bred Mancunian who's played for the club a decade. People forget he establish himself in the first-team squad when he was only 18-19. He was amazing with Stam before he got injured which put him out for a season.
Great player, so glad he signed. I think it would of been quite the disaster if he left. They wouldn't of got someone with the same skill and experience as he. Couple that with the fact we have a lack of backup in defence as is. We **** bricks when ever 1 of the back 4 get injured. Nightmare having any one of them out. Even more so now Heinze left.
Its been a blessing when people like Simpson or Pique have just slotted in when needed and held the job well. Browns defiantly under rated. I feel O'shea's in the same boat, hes done us proud multiple times yet we knock him.

OK, very fair points made in Browns favour.
Sure I can see where his limited attributes, are valued by United, and he is only used as backup so it's not that big a deal, but he is still simply a hoofer. I can see why Manc fans back him up. Its as much to do with loyalty as anything else.
Personally speaking as in the case of Ben Haim, who is actually a much better footballer than Brown, if I think a player at Chelsea is wank, then I will say so. Ben Haim has not been crap everytime he plays, but one thing is for sure, he is simply not of a good enough standard for my club.
