I'm hearing 16 millions for Jones. ARE you kidding me?

Hope that figure isn't right. Because thats a huge bargain.

Makes me wonder what will happen to Brown and Evans.

SAF was forced to bring him in after Liverpool put in a bid.....he wanted to wait till next summer but he was forced his hand.....

Big price but it's whats expected thesedays. So long-term we're looking at an all English partnership of Smalling and Jones. Both fantastic talents for United AND England.

Yes both are fantastic talents. I am happy with them. Jones impressed. If you think about it, Chicharito cost 3 times cheaper than Jones. Its important to have English young players though due to that rule about minimum English players. I think this played a role in the inflation of English players. Still a big gamble. Can't believe it.

EDIT: Found this

Looks solid.

EDIT: Can't believe how crazy the rumours have been lately. Many seem real too. Other news:

Bruce is willing to buy Gibson + Brown + O'Shea for 12 millions!

I'd be happy with Brown and Gibson leaving but O'Shea is very important for his versatility. We'd need more cover at the full back position if O'Shea, Brown (and Neville) all leave.

Jones had an amazing game against UTD. here is hoping he can repeat that a lot more times in the red of Manchester if we do buy him.

English players have inflated price tags in England. as do Spanish players in Spain and the french in France. it is the new order of things. but things are looking bright, 20 years of the premier league are starting to pay off in terms of home grown talent as that money has made its way down to the feeder leagues.

Skysports confirms that Young's representatives are in talks with United.

Not sure what to think about it. This probably means Giggs won't be used that much this season. Ideally I'd want a left sided midfielder to replace Giggs. And a younger one too. Young is 26 and I don't think he'll improve that much.

Positive side is that he always makes more than 10 assists a season and scored 9 goals in each season for the past 4 seasons. Thats very good for a winger. Great shooter of the ball too. He could become our FK or pen taker.

He's currently one of the best proven wingers in English football, at 26. You can expect 4 more years of him at this level, at least. I'd say that's a good deal. Hell, if you don't want him, I'll take him.

But I'd rather have Sneijder, and, fingers crossed, we'll be getting him instead.

One of the best English wingers? Amongst whom? English wingers all suck anyway.

As I said above, ideally I'd prefer a younger player with more potential years, and a left footed one. Whats the point of having 4 right footed wingers? In fact, we have 7 wingers including youngsters (Obertan, Bebe, Cleverley) and ALL 7 are right footed. I don't mind Young though. Not really what we need right now though.

Young would be a fantastic signing. He a goal threat and gets a lot of assists. He's also versatile and can play on both flanks and through the middle. He also brings the kind of threat and creativity which can change games.

I said English football, not English. The Prem has good wingers, including the English ones.

And Young is two-footed. But hey, get a foreign 20-year-old, maybe by the time he's 26 he'll be as good as Young. Young is good now.

You should play less FM/FIFA.

Agreed with Az here. Young would be fantastic. Jones looks like a neck on the line stopper in the Vidic mould, perfect for Smalling (in the Rio mould!)

SkySports are talking about Ash Young AND Nasri. If we could get that, would be immense. Exactly the injection our squad needs.

I play neither.

Nasri? Can't see him moving to United TBH. If we happen to bid for him, Arsene will either reject or place a super high price tag. He'd be an excellent Scholes replacement though.

Why does it mean less Giggs? Young doesn't play holding midfield.

Giggs played more as left winger this season. At a point we had only him and Nani left and he had to play Left midfield every week.

EDIT:

Chicharito's brace for Mexico for those who care. Now he has 19 goals in 25 games :|
