Beckham, Ruud, Cantona, Ince, Hughes, Kanchelskis etc all left at some point but we still came out on top. Players come and goes, but the team still remains Man Utd.

Go learn about Man Utd history for god's sake. You don't seem to have a clue about SAF and Man Utd's history.

I am well versed in United's history, thank you. That has nothing to do with the immediate impact of losing Ronaldo, who is better than any of the players you mentioned.

He's still one single player. How about in 1995 when Ince, Hughes, Kanchelskis all left? We won the double. We have always been changing systems with players coming and going and it has almost of the time worked. No need to be pessimistic so early in the season.

Yeah...I understand and I know you're just trying to be the voice of reason...but it kills me to see them lose.

When Messi scored the second goal last May I had to turn it off, I couldn't even watch the rest.

I was so excited the other day because I had just gotten Setanta so it was literally the first time I have ever been able to watch them play a league game live, and it just happens to be the game we lose to a newly promoted team.

I'll get over it and will be in better spirits when they play this weekend.

I understand your frustration. But that's football. Losing is part of the game. By the way its not the first time we lost to a newly promoted team. It happened lots of time before but we still won (or went close to winning) the title in the end.

People seem to be forgetting that Burnley are in the top flight. They're here, so they're good enough to be here.

Had you lost to Chelsea or Pool in the same manner, it would be just as bad.

Whats all the talk about? We lost, so what? It keeps happening. As for the players, its been said so many times, United is not a one-man team. Ron left, so let it be. We have others who are good enough to take his place.

Why so much fuss?

Just chill.

dear god... what's with all the doom and gloom. We lost one game, do you not remember the start of last season when we were wrote off it was that "bad".

I wouldn't worry about anything. Although I would love to see Hargreaves back. The guys a beast, we could do with him soon. I hope he's back by Xmas.

And Owens goals will come he's already getting into the positions and scored a hand full of goals. And some of those goals were against a lot better teams then we have played so far. I bet he scores within the next three games in the prem and I bet we do better then the start of last season on a whole.

sigh...I remember half the United supporters on this forum writing us off at the beginning of last season as well :clapwap:...We've only played 2 games! Have some faith.

Crappy that Rio won't be back soon and Evans is apparently going for a surgery on his knee...

Looks likely to be a back five of Foster, O'Shea, Brown, Vidic & Evra. It should be a stronger defence than Wednesday, but the key reason United lost was as Sir Alex said "decision making in the final 3rd of the field"

Nani is also in the squad, I really hope he starts. Macheda is back from his heroics in the Manchester Senior Cup too. Probably Berba up front to start though.

Sir Alex also admitted that Michael Carrick had been given the penalty job largely because he voulunteered - and had never missed in a shootout for United. He didn't say who'd take the next one though. For me it has to be Wazza.

And finally, he again has said that he won't be buying anyone else this summer.

I would like to see Kuszsack starting today. Scholes, Valenica, Nani and Fletcher in midfield with Berbatov and Rooney upfront.

today, we'll destroy Wigan.

I hope so, but only if we play to our strengths. Wedenesday we were too narrow - we must get Valencia and Nani rampaging down the wings.

Vida is back, so that will be a big plus.

Fergie said he won't rush Owen Hargreaves, but he's looking likely to be back next month.

Help?

Fan Favourite
Owen is only supposed to be back in England in September. He won't be fully fit till December.

So many missed chances from us, this game should have been long over by now.
