I think Rooney still has a role to play. He is the best playmaker we have. He is finished as a striker. He played well in the last few games last season when Rashford became the main striker. He also played very well at the Euros except for the last game.

My thoughts on Zlatan coming to United are positives. Who will benefit the most will be our youngsters. Zlatan could be with us for at least 2 seasons. The likes of Martial, Rashford, Lingard etc. will learn so much from him leading the line. Ibra has the physical presence in the box we've been missing lately, the killer attribute that turns to gold and he's fearless, doesn't give a shit about the defenders that will be going up against him. He can easily pass that down to our youths.
Some fans might say him arriving at United is a bad move especially for Rashford but it'll benefit him so much. Rashy is only 18. If Zlatan stays for 2 years, he'll be 20. We've already seen what Marcus has to offer and what he can do and is our future. So with the 2 years being lead by Ibra, he could potentially become even better. IMO, if we had signed a young world class striker say Morata, then that would hinder the development of Rashford. Jose knows what he's doing hence resigning Marcus because Jose knows he has so much potential and will be world-class striker. Same goes with Martial.

Yes, we need Rooney. Just like we needed Bosnich when the only other option was Taibi. We need an actual midfielder and Rooney to be shipped to China. Can't see that happening, so I seriously hope he'll find some motivation to play. With Mourinho and Zlatan bringing some winning mentality to the squad.

Real Madrid pulled out of Pogba race.
At this point in negotiations, the basic transfer fee for Pogba is understood to start at around £85m (€100m).
However, when taking into account add-ons and bonuses related to the success of the player and the club - as well as Raiola's fee - the total amount United could pay for Pogba's transfer could reach over £105m (€123m).
This is not including the player's contract, which is expected to comfortably exceed £65m, were the club to pay him a basic salary of £250,000 per week on a five-year deal.
These numbers are ridiculous and it is only for a single player. Is it worth it? I don't think so. We could have gotten 3-4 quality players in that price. How will Man U handle this in the long run with the ongoing debt?

If I was a Utd fan my biggest concern would be that he obviously has absolutely no desire to come and is not at all excited to play under Mourinho, wanted to go to Madrid and probably resents Utd for driving up the price and preventing that from happening and would probably much rather stay where he is but is being swayed by the money and his agent (who will reportedly be paid €25m..... An agent!!!)
