To be fair, he doesn't get that many chances ... I never saw him in Torres mode to miss that many chances ... however, he should try a bit harder to put himself in better positions ... there were lots of dead balls from Martial side and they all needed a simple tap in, but Rooney was not there ... I was watching Bayern highlights and Muller goal was fantastic, he came from nowhere to deal with that ... Wayne's a good forward with decent skills but always lacked that killer instinct ...

Did he play a good game? He was played through on goal and he scored. He's a striker in a top world league, he's supposed to score those. Aside from that, are you really telling me that he was better than he's been? Doubt it.

He had a good game overall, it has nothing to do with the goal, which everyone should have scored. He was much more involved in gameplay compared to his previous games. He looked sharper.

it's incredible how Martial was played out of position (because of Rooney) yet produced a solid performance. What's wrong with Depay?

It was extremely obvious that City were playing for the draw. They did not have a single clear cut shot on goal and brought on a third central defender to replace their attacking midfielder. They maintain some of their small team mentality.

Um, it was a smart strategy under the circumstances. I know many teams walk away from Old Trafford with all three points these days, but I think there is no harm in playing for a draw when your biggest goal threat and biggest creator are not fit to even make the bench. Who were you lot missing - your regular left back?

I will take a draw and top of the league. You lot can just go back to moaning about Rooney.

Didn't watch the League cup game, was working but watched the highlights. I honestly don't care that we lost given that there were some changes to the lineup. I watched Andreas Pereira's individual highlights. He's awesome. I rate him much higher than Januzaj (I HATE his diving antics and think he is overrated) and Lingard (nothing special with him and he is 3 years older than Martial).

Pereira played CMF and has very good passing skills and has quick feet. However I have not seen him defending that much so he's probably more suited as AMF.

I don't know he's nothing special and is 22. He is more effective than Januzaj though. To me, Lingard he is at the level of Kieran Richardson when he was playing for us.

Lingard had a very good game especially the second half and I hope this kind of performance continues but I am still not convinced about his potential. He reminds me of Kieran Richardson who also had a few games like these and was called up to play for England. That was a great assist.

Rooney was quite good today for England playing on the R wing. Scored 1 and assisted 1; I mean he was "quite good" compared to this season's performances with us but by no means inspirational.

We are getting screwed with injuries again this time attackers. Fellaini, Rooney, Martial, Carrick, Valencia and James WIlson just came back from a knock and can't play 90 minutes.

We are left with no first team strikers. I would prefer Depay as striker rather than James Wilson. Something like

I feel we could be raped by leicester tomorrow. They play fast counterattacking football and have a striker in the form of his life whereas we play boring slow football with no reliable striker. We are the complete oposite than them and its obviously attacking football that wins you games, not conservative possession football.
