Mourinho is not the only choice - you could try to poach pochettino, or tuchel, or cocu, or allegri, or take a punt on giggs, or Benitez might have relegation release clause, or even pellegrini, or Koeman though I am not sure the fans would take to another aging Dutchman. The FA cup may give the board an excuse to keep LvG if that's what they want to do but I am sure it wont have any actual influence on their decision. I dont even know myself, everytime I get the idea they should definitely keep him, things happen which make that position very hard to maintain (such as the bizarre selection against Tottenham), but whenever I start to think that maybe they would be better off without him, I see something great like Rashford skinning Man City. I think what is needed is a long term plan which has a final goal which is not LvG, but may involve a year or two more of him as part of a transition period.

A club wasting £10m for nothing would be one of the dumbest wastes of money ever. At least when you buy a player that turns into shit, there was a chance he could be good.

I have a feeling any professional sports team wouldn't do something like the above.

PSG is approaching Mourinho which is awesome news. He will excel there because they are a team full of stars and do not rely on youth. Blanc may be sacked so maybe we should consider him.

Apparantly, and this may be bullshit as there are so many stories on this topic they can't all or even most be true, the business people on the board and the Americans etc want Mourinho but it's the elder statesmen like Ferguson and charlton (who arguably should no longer have anything to do with the running of the club) hanging around trying to scupper it
