I agree, LvG is nuts for selling Di Maria after just 1 season. Vidic and Evra also had bad first seasons. Di Maria was pretty clear last year that he wanted PSG though so he may have been the one who pushed for the exit.

I think Depay was great on the left wing. Mata made 2 very good through passes from the centre. 1 lead to the goal. van Gaal is nuts.
Depay or Januzayh behind Rooney creates nothing for him. Both of them are converted wingers who have pace and will shoot from distance rather than make a through pass.

Shaw Rojo Smalling Darmian

LvG has shed some lignt on his team selection:

I think Januzj's best position is striker or second striker tbh but he if VG wants to play another striker with Rooney, he should have bought one. Rooney is close to being finished. His best position is a sort of some box to box attacking midfielding second striker but he doesn't like it and wants to be the main player. His best role is being the side kick rather than protagonist but he won't accept that.

Schweini not playing because he is not fit. LvG said it. But I think Carrick and Schneiderlin will start over him because they started in all preseason games.
Schweinsteiger fee is reasonable for a backup player for a UCL team these days. I agree this transfer is good for all parties.
