Mark Hughes in, Jo just in for a record 19M GBP. Samara hopefully out soon to Celtic, asking 3M for him. Isaksson confirmed to PSV for 2M. Mpenza, Dickov and Sun Jihai all released. Dunne reportedly close to agreeing a new deal (bleh).

looks like Hughes is getting this team organized. I think our attackers are good as they are now.. Jo, Benjani, healthy Bojinov, Caicedo, Sturridge, Vass... still too many if you ask me. IMO what we need now is a left-back to replace Ball/Garrido as both of those guys arent good enough to get us where we wanna be. I was worried about our right-wing situation, but Geovanni and Ireland are decent I guess, plus we've still got Castillo til January.

oh, and we play Faroe Islands giants EB Streymur in the first round of the UEFA Cup. July 18 first leg.

hey ho! lets go! the unofficial epl champs (after beating scum TWICE). am looking forward to this season even more than last, I think we will be slightly more under the radar then last season with Sven gone, and hopefully we can get some decent defensive and midfield cover. i really don't know what happened with Geovanni, looked decent enough when he was on but never figured in Svens plans. Strange one that.

Hope to see Johnson come on even more this season, although it seems behind the scenes he is a bit of a prima dona so Hughes should sort him out.

MAN CITY have made a whopping £25.5m bid for Barca ace Ronaldinho

damn how beautiful (lol) will Ronaldinho actually look in those beautiful sky blue jersey (H). Is this true thou or a rumor? thanks. Btw how is Vedran Corluka progressing in the premier league in your opinion Man City fans...

pretty sure he'll choose Milan anyway, too much of a Brazilian connection and more promise of CL football next season. and about Corluka, he's a solid player, not the best going forward so at right-back he's not really the best, but a very solid and reliable defender. stood strong in his first EPL season, had good physicality so it wasn't an issue. he should continue to improve over the next few seasons for sure.

I like Corluka, although I think that I would prefer to see him in central defence where he proved to be pretty reliable, and a partnership of him and Richards could work well in the future. He proved himself to be a worthy first team player, his attitude is good and it was a shame he had to be pushed into midfield when Hamaan got injured. From an attacking point of view, Richards at right back and Corluka in the middle would be a better option.

As for Ronaldinho, I just don't know if he would add much to the team - great footballer for sure, but is the extra attention and all the drama worth it.... I would like to see us stay under the radar this season...

through to the next round of the UEFA Cup.. woo!! we outshot the minnows 35-3, 17-0 on target, yet Soccernet's headline read "visitors steal the show"... right.

and we've signed Ben-Haim to a 4-year deal. surely he cant be a backup? Micah to RB, Dunne/Ben-Haim central pairing and Corluka up to DM? how the **** is this gonna work?

I've been wondering that. Why would he sign if he didn't think he'd play a lot of games, and Hughes comments regarding why he was buying a centreback made it sound like it's Richards and Dunne in the middle as the main force. Maybe he's switching Corluka to the other side? Either that, what rony said, or someone's playing second fiddle.

we may have our answer. in a transfer that would make very little sense, Corluka might be on his way to Spurs for 7M GBP. so we get a young defender, in his first season he impresses everyone, is considered one of the best right backs in England, still only 21 or 22.. so we sell him for 1M less than what we got him for. brilliant. what the **** is Hughes thinking?

in other news, City won the Thomas Coo Trophy (but more importantly, my heart) with a 1-0 win over Milan. Bojinov with a stunner, and we need that from him since apparently Vassell took a knock and could be out for a while too.

Hughes confirms Corluka's staying put. sensible decision (Y) meanwhile, Michael Johnson's being a faggy little bitch and wont sign a new contract.

apparently we've just signed Vincent Kompany from Hamburg.. out of the blue to say the least :| awesome signing, but what the **** do we do with Richards, Corluka, Dunne, Ben-Haim, Onouha and Kompany? unless he can play on the left or miraculously, as a striker, I don't see why Hughes decided to snap him up.

Bianchi gone to Torino. don't know why everyone hated on him, he played well when he actually played, Sven just decided to stop playing him despite his impressive performances so he never got a chance to show what he's got. good luck in Torino Rolando, destroy Juve in those derbies

Team Captain
solid win today, Kompany was solid as hell, Sturridge is a talent for sure, gonna be hard to keep his spot once Jo comes back, but he's gonna be 2nd choice striker for a long time with all the injuries. and hopefully Micah gets well soon, looked like a nasty injury :(

Team Captain
not bad for a filthy Israelite. nah, he was solid, didn't notice him all game which is a good thing when you're a defender.

wow I was really impressed with Ireland. whats the news on Richards?

Wait you guys sold Rolando Bianchi? he was class in fm 07 when I signed him to my PSV lol :P

Team Captain
Richards was released from the hospital, great news but he might be out for a few weeks. and ya, Ireland played great down the right, need him to keep that up since he's the only competent right winger we have right now
