let's hope he takes Ireland's place... that kid is useless until the last 10 mins of the game :( good win today, we got some lucky calls from the official to be honest, but usually calls like that go against us so it's nice to see. Gelson with his first, great set-up by Etuhu... he looks like the real deal, hopefully he gets some time even after everyone gets healthy and after the transfer window

Youth Team
City: Hart, Onuoha, Dunne (c), Richards, Ball, Ireland (Etuhu 65), Corluka, Hamman, Petrov, Castillo (Fernandes 72), Vassell (Bianchi 80).

unused subs: Schmeichel, Garrido.

bookings: Corluka (89), Hamann (90)

___

Petrov played again whole 90 mins. I read somewhere he is the only player that started all EPL games this season. Corluka also played in all of them, but sometimes as a sub.

Sven does need some more players. Just imagine the above mentioned Petrov and Corluka got injured. Who will let he in on the left wing and on RB? Gelson maybe, but .. I think he needs some more depth in midfield now.
Neri is very good. Needs more fitness though, in order to spent whole 90 mins.

When is the replay to be played? just gonna add to the already heavy schedule. Petrov is a horse.

Apparently SGE is looking at Alfonso Alves (14M), Fred (9M) and Podolski (loan). I'd probably take Podolski if anything, I think Alves would flop in the EPL... remember what happened the last time we signed a striker from Heerenveen? :(

Samaras hell yes. :D
Alfonso won't fit, i'd say too. Podolski will hardly leave Munich,he will be comfortably be the future of the Bayern attack, since both Toni and Klose are over 30 and will play no more than 3-4 years for Bayern, i guess.

Fred may fit into the EPL. But i think he approaches the 30s soon...
I think Sven needs a good proper striker, so Fred may do the trick. But the team also needs young guns. Bojinov and Castillo are the ones i see as a trashing attacking duo for the future. :)

tbh, i can't believe what a good squad Sven build for just 1 year. I can recall criticizing him while managing the Lions, but McLaren showed what really poor manager could be. Sven is really class, he proved it to me this year.

Btw, as you might have noticed, Kasper is back in the squad. Him and Joe are the GKs now. Isaksson will probably leave.

This loans won't do the trick for a long time. Just imagine Neri settles good and suddenly the loan is over and he should return to Donetsk...
What would Sven do? Mpenza? Samaras? :D
I'd go for neither Podolski or Fred. On a second thought, Fred is injury prone. Alfonso might be coming from Heerenveen (ahem), but his record seems very impressive.. We may offer a swap deal - Alfonso for Samaras and Mpenza, how about this?

Guys, guys...Afonso Alves is something really different from Samaras. Alves is really a phenomenon! If he has his day (almost always) then he scores a hattrick. If he doesnt play good (and thats almost never) then he kicks a beautiful freekick in from 30 meters. I mean the guy is fantastic. Dont ever compare him to Samaras who was a decent player in a decent Dutch team. Afonso has scored so many great goals that you cant compare him to a Samaras.

Now having said that, I dont know if Afonso could fit into the EPL. I think Italy or Germany would be better places for him to go.

We? I will assume it is a mistake, you have a United sig, therefore 'We' cannot be used.

No to Podolski. Alves looks tha goods though, and has spent time in Sweden as well so the Manchester climate shouldn't be a problem.

Are you for real? What exactly are you?

Haha we are being linked with Barbatov as well, and while it would be nice it is so ******* unlikely that he would choose us over a team playing in the Champions League. I would love it if he was in our team, despite his tendency to have bad patches, but really, just because there is some money to splash around doesn't mean we will sign anyone and everyone.

haha, i am not english, so i couldn't care less about United - City rivalry. ;)
I said we, since the presence of 2 Bulgarians in the City squad made me follow their performance this season, and i am interested in this team for a few months now. ;)
I am MU fan since childhood and this will remain like that. This does not prevent me from crediting Sven for the good squad he build up.

Stotty, i don't get your tricky sarcasm, i will kindly advise you not to use it.

Berbatov will never ever join City. He will leave Spurs for some Champions League class team, and this will not happen for the money, but for the simple reason he wants to win tropheys, which sadly cannot happen with team like Spurs. Although attacking, Spurs' football is shockingly weak in terms of results - they hardly ever keep a clean sheet, and concede every second goal from a set piece!!

If City's owner needs strikers better buy off Neri, or go for some experienced EPL striker.

Yeah adobe you can't say "we" man lol. I'm Bulgarian too, and while I want to see city do well in the premiership (for obvious reasons), when it comes to the derby match, I want United to beat City to ****.

we JUST missed out on Nery during the summer window, and after the loan ends you just know Shakhtar are gonna ask for some ridiculous amount of money for him, especially if he does well for the rest of the season. Berbatov would be a good signing, but first he needs to get his head out of his ass. wants to break Sheva's EPL record transfer fee? HA! scores 4 goals in 1 game and his value automatically doubles. who are you kidding.

as for Alves, no offense, but I think even I can score a hat-trick a game if I played in the Dutch league (H) I just don't think he's the real deal, and I wouldn't risk 14M on him

lol when did Berbatov say that? Anyway I highly doubt he'd sign for City considering that you're not exactly a step up from Tottenham...yet.
