Guys, what format should we be saving these as, I've tried bitmap but they come out all funny in the game, either you can't see them at all or they are just small black and white lines on the players.

i think you need to use Graphic Studio to edit it before you put it in kitserver folder

ye download graphic studio in pespc-files. open the bmp file with it. click the small black box in the palette side. choose the pink colour and set the opacity to 0%. save it.. and enjoy!
