Another record broken by Moyes. First New year defeat since 22 years. I have to make a collection of these.

Happy new year.

Fuck off.

But despite online criticism of Moyes and his management, it appears the travelling supporters are still very much behind their manager.

During the Capital One Cup clash with Sunderland, fans were heard chanting support for Moyes, with many insisting they are 100% behind their man.

‘Every single one of us will stand by David Moyes,’ began one chant, while another said ‘one David Moyes’.

That's just stupid, I'm losing faith in him fast. Our inability to create any chances besides pointless crosses is mind-boggling.

Tactics are terrible for sure. I think we are the epl side with the most crosses in the EPL and we also have one of the worst cross completion rate. This is becoming very predictable. We are focussing our play on the wings and crosses when our wingers can't even cross. The frustrating part is that we hardly change this tactic throughout the game as well.

Yeah that crossing part is becoming annoying to me too. We only had one pure striker (Welbeck), if you can call him that, and putting those crosses into the box works very rarely like that. Valencia was quite bad today as well, sometimes he has good games and then games likes this.

But i liked how Januzaj took matters into his own hands at times, tried to do something different, he's equally good with both feet, has a good shot and can be unpredictable at times. He even scored a goal, but Giggs was offside, and the first shot might have gone in if Giggs hadn't accidentally blocked it. He came close to an equalizer as well. He's already showing so much potential and i believe in a few years he'll be really good.

And regarding Moyes. He's trying to do his job as good as possible, i think it was obvious that the results weren't going to come right away. Managing Manutd is something different than managing Everton. Because everybody is always expecting results, considering our success in recent years. It will take him some time.

What good would sacking him do? I don't want us to turn into Chelsea or any other team who doesn't give their manager enough time to settle in. There would be nobody to replace him anyway.

Re the Moyes situation, YES you can point to the somewhat piecemeal squad he inherited, the high expectations based on Fergusen getting an incredible title win out of said team, and the strength of competition to excuse Moyes results so far. BUT, you need to judge him by how he reacts to this problem, he NEEDS to atleast make an attempt to solidify this team in January, this may involve moving certain players on aswell as bringing talent in. If he acts like a lame duck this transfer window, well, you have to start to wonder if this United team CAN be solidified under his management.

Yeah, agreed. But it's quite difficult to sign any quality players during the January transfer window. There are rumours about Koke, Reus, Diego Costa, Coentrao, even Ander Herrera again, and the list goes on and on. Most of it is probably tabloid bullshit anyway, maybe the Coentrao one is the most believable.

But pretty much all of those clubs are doing well in their domestic league and CL. Why would they sell in January? And if they even would, they know very well that we are in need of good players so they'd ask for a lot of money. I'd rather wait until the next summer.

Perhaps we'll get some leftback and that will probably be it.

Unless it has to do with training, their own minutes on the pitch, or something ridiculous like AVB's famous high line, I don't think players have any right to criticize a manager. They are the ones losing these games.

I was willing to give him a couple of months to learn the players and figure out what works best, but its been half a year and he still seems just as clueless.

1. His training methods are said to be too archaic and too focused on fitness and hardwork. United players are taught to be skillful, not hustle and bustle.
2. His best tactic is get the ball to the wing and cross
3. He has no other tactic except crossing

We had majority of possession in all the last 3 defeats, but our only attack was through the wings. Hustle for the ball, get it on the wing and cross is Moyes' tactic, that's what he did at Everton and that's what he is doing here. He has no plan B, he doesn't know how to actually get the team to attack. That's why we hear about how well players are training and how they maintain majority of possession in games, but the results just don't go our way.

A manager that only knows crossing shouldn't be in charge of United and I think this Christmas period showed us that Moyes has no other tricks up his sleeve. Even if we signed Koke or Herrera or Sneijder or anyone, I still wouldn't except us to do all that much better.

Losing to a team weaker than you is ok, but three times in a row? Something is wrong.

Most of the time I would agree with you, but I have a feeling that players are trying to save whatever squad we currently have. Clearly Vidic and Rooney are not happy and want to leave, RvP probably does too and Ferdinand is definitely not happy. If Moyes is around in the summer and we finish 7th or 8th I would expect all 4 of these guys to be gone and possibly a few others wanting to quit. We will get shitty price for them and end up in a huge pile of debt with no income and then our chances of ending up like Leeds becomes that much more realistic.

Its good to stick behind the right manager, but I don't think Moyes is the right manager anymore.

Rooney isn't going to leave. The defenders you should have probably phased out years ago, and RvP is probably never going to be healthy again given his history. So if those are the players he's pissing off, so be it I say.

Its a matter of opinion, I think both Rooney and RvP would force their way out and then goodluck to us attracting anyone at all.
