Man United 4
Veron '22
Cole '40
Fortune '46
Beckham '90
Everton 1
Campbell '68
Man... Laurent Blanc looked as if he was playing at United for years... He was a rock solid defender, and had the pace Stam lacked though he's much older.
Fortune came close to scoring for United, but only managed to find the bar, on the rebound, he tried a volley which was deflected off some Everton defenders.
Veron opened the scoring in the 22nd min with a nice pass to Keane who layed the ball for Veron to run pass, chest the ball down, and finished without any problems.
Then 5 mins before half-time, a brilliant curling throw to Chadwick in the penalty box by Gary Neville allowed Chadwick to sneak in a pass to Cole and while Gerrard and 2 Everton defenders were busy trying to stop Chadwick, Cole reacted quickly to Chadwick's pass and sloted the ball into the corner of the net.
Within seconds after the match restarted, Neville fired the ball into the penalty area, while Yorke cusioned the landing, leaving Fortune to score his 1st goal of the season.
Everton managed to reply in the 68th min as Gemmill caught United's defence cold and squared the ball for Kevin Campbell to grab a goal back for Everton.
Then in the last minute, 77th min substitube Beckham scored for Man United to seal the victory.
Overall, United managed to keep most of the possesion in Everton's half, pressuring the Everton defence time to time, and no surprise that they won with a 3 goal margin, blasting them up from 5th position on the league table, to 2nd behind Bolton.
This match showed huge contrast compared to United's perfomances in their first 3 games.
