Yeah. I am probably guilty of not having faith in a team without SWP and placing too much of the burden on his young shoulders. Still, hard not to when he has played every minute of every game this season. Whilst Fowler looks to have run into some form, BOlton is the sort of team I really fear. THey have a good record against teams of our level this season, and without SWP we lose some of our unpredictability. I foresee long balls hoofed to Fowler in the hope he scores...

On the other hand, this may be the sort of game where Reyna steps up and spearks something. I can only hope.

without SWP, City have practically no attacking flair from midfield... all we have is Barton, and all he has are long shots.... Bosvelt's more defensive, Sibierski's more of a forward and Musampa's not quick anough... it's all up to Willo :p

WIth a name like Willo Flood, things have to be good (H)

GOod to see another city fan around here, Torontolynx (another from Canada, eh?) (Y)

And yeah, reyna is back for the first team now.

-------------James------------

Mills----Distin-----Dunne------Thatcher (if fit)

----------Bosvelt-----------Barton---------

---Flood--------Reyna----------Kiki-------

---------------Fowler---------------

Thats how I would start the game, Macken :( or BWP to come off the bench to join Fowler if we need something more up front.

someone change the name of this thread to The Manchester City thread and merge it with the Son of a thread :(

I think you forgot one thing when making your lineup: Barton has been suspended.

Shiz you are right.
:(
Rony will be happy though :p
BUgger, the injury list is ridiculous.

-------------James--------------

Mills-----Distin----Dunne-------Sommeil

---------------Bosvelt----------------

Flood-------Reyna-------------Kiki

--------Fowler------Sibierski-----------

BWP off the bench - I would also like to see Sibierski play deeper than an out and out striker.

well, been a **** game so far, City's attack has been useless without SWP, Fowler missed the easiest goal of all time by trying to chip the goalie (which I realized he really sucks at)

1-0 Bolton at HT, Diouf with a tap-in in injury time

Actually, Kev was talking about 6th place again a week or so ago  just before SWP's knee op was announced.

Meh - Bolton are a really good team this season, we just need to do something while our main attacking thrust is recovering. If we don't, then we could well be sucked into a relegation dogfight AGAIN

Kev has announced he intends to stay until 2006, so another season under him in the premier league is on the cards. But our squad is unbalnced for sure, with the players either a. too old, b. too young, or c. on the verge of superstardom and ready to move (well, one player anyway). We just don't seem to have anyone at the 'peak' of their powers so to speak, to bind the team together. Compare this to when we had Berkovic, for example.

I dunno, with the money situation and all, I think over summer we will have to look at season-long loans of some of the 'discards' from the bigger teams. Bolton have been magnificent at getting these sorts of players, and in order to consolidate the team in a cheap manner we have to do the same. Aging midfielders past their best on free transfers just doesn't work - MacManaman for example would have been great the season BEFORE he ended up leaving Madrid. Never been convinced by Sibierski, and Sincalair I guess has been unlucky, because he looked the goods early on, what with him playing for his home team and all. At the moment, James, Dunne (despite the United game) and SWP are about the only players who seem to give EVERYTHING, game in game out. The youngsters will eventually get there, but i suspect Barton for one is thinking of greener pastures (especially with Kev staying on another season).

Ah well, a nervous few weeks ahead. At least you have AC Milan, rony.

that was Bolton's first win at City since like 1956 :( didn't get the 2nd half, had to work, but City's attack must be futile without SWP
