The default settings are **** tbh.
* Make sure your best aerial threats are up top when you have a FK or CK. And conversely send any players who are not good in the air, to be be sent back.
* If you have players with good long-shooting accuracy, get them to wait outside the area, to blast it from the outside the box.
* If you have a player with good dribbling and if possible good crossing stats, get them to come as a short-option. This is particulary useful against zonal marking teams, who tend to allow this guy a free range. If you are finding the man is being marked, then disable this option.
* Don't specifically direct your corner-kicks and free-kicks if the player in question doesn't have good skills. You'll find the delivery will be crap.
* Disrupt the wall with a player with good bravery and aggression. He can effectively force open a wall for your player when you have a FK.
* Challenging the goalie can be useful, if your player have good aggression, bravery, jumping and heading stats and the keeper in question has low bravery and aerial ability ratings. If this is the case, get your corner kick taker to drop a sweet little ball into the 6-yard box, and get the goalie to flap at it.
* Get players with good off-the-ball stats to attack the ball at either the near or far post. Basically if they have good movement, they can sort of make a darting run and brush off the marker. Conversely if you players have slow movement, but good physical stats, then get them to stand at the back stick.
* And if you have quick, moving centre-fowards with not so good heading stats, you could always get them to produce a near post flick on. Its quite useful to cause a bit of trouble in the box now and again.
At the lower league levels where I have players with not so good movement but are really strong and brave, I would get them to stand at the back stick and pump the ball over to them from the CK. Sometimes the keeper would come, miss and allow one of my big centre-backs the time and space to head it in.
Although there is no winning formula, you'll have to experiment and know your players I'm afraid.
