Major doubt about difficulty

Ok, I've been playing this yesterday for 1 or 2 hours on amateur and semi-pro. Today I decided to play an 8 minute match on World Class and guess what.... I won 1-0!

And what's really worrying, I am not a good player at all!!! I played a lot of WC2002, but that is very different from this game. This game plays like FIFA2003,which I played when it came out, but not longer than a few hours in total.

Also I constantly mess up with the controls. I use a Thrustmaster Firestorm gamepad and just like last year the default controls for passing and lobbing are switched. The automatism to pass/change men with the former pass button is very hard to break.

During the game I think the CPU had only 1 or 2 shots on goal. I believe I had at least 65% possession of the ball. And if I would have played conservative they wouldn't have touched the ball at all, because they hardly ever try to regain possession when you are passing the ball around in midfield.

Also, I didn't notice a difference between semi-pro and World Class. I used Demo Raptor. Maybe the difficulty setting is not working for the Raptor?? Anybody know?

you played ONE match and won ONE nil. just wait to play the full game man, on world class, try gettin promoted as a Div 2 team. Or try winning the world cup on world class. Cos you won ONE friendly by a ONE goal margin with equal teams, doesnt mean the difficulty standard in the whole game is screwed.

Well, I won the first game on WC that I played with little to no competition from the CPU. The fact that it was only 1-0 is because I still have to get used to the controls. I'm sure it will be 5-0 every time if I practice a couple of days longer.

My point is: I should have lost my first game on WC with 5-0, seeing how I played!!!!

Either the Demo or the Demo Raptor is faulty, that's my opinion. Hope it's the raptor.

Most likely this is due to limitations in the demo. For the NHL 2004 demo many of the options would not change even though there was toggles/sliders to change the AI. It was there just for show. In the demo we only get default settings so maybe there is sopme files missing that add to the gameplay.

Most probably, yes. I just played another WC match and won 6-1. It was too easy getting the ball from the CPU. It can't be the true difficulty setting.

But the different difficulty modes worked in the NHL demo!
Which by the way was exactly like the final release (I loved it!).

Fifa 2004 Demo doesn't have all the qualities of FIfa 2004 Final Release (FULL) so that's why you beat with 1-0 and 6-1. Try the full game - carrer mode with a 3'rd division team to beat a club from the 1st division. -

I get what u r saying dude...but i think its prob the raptor. I used the other expander and set it to professional and have lost 5-2 6-1 and 2-0 all in 10min games. I did try it on Semi-Pro b4 that and was winning fairly easliy i think won 6-2 once...so dont worry..its hard. Try the other expander

I also see difficulty settings being wrong with the Raptor expander. Comparing it with the FifaOnLine.it and the DemoFactory, it (to me) is totally obvious that World Class settings on the Raptor isn't producing the same quality play as World Class settings with at least the 2 others.

All the other options seem to be working correctly though, making it hard to notice the lacking AI skill... but after you play awhile and get used to how the game flows and AI reacts, you will quickly see clearly that WC difficulty setting on raptor is not working like the other expanders on WC.

I am only adding my 2 cents wanting to help iron out any bugs for future updates/versions for such a fine expander line.

well.. I didnt notice any change on the AI with the demo raptor either.. so I think the demo may be limited as well.

There is a major increase of difficulty when set to "World Champion" as worded in the pull-down list for difficulty settings.

I've been doin clean installs of the demo on each of the expanders and still clearly notice WC being extremely hard on most if not all the expanders minus the Raptor expander.

Press 8 to change the camera view when the game starts. That should solve it.

The version I have installed (downloaded a few hours ago) is at V.2004, and readme still at 1.0.0

I have been leaving all settings at default except for the difficulty, so I didn't see any camera problems with the fifaonline.it expander. Worst case just do the in game camera change after kickoff to reset your camera.

that seemed to work.. it tightens the defence a lot... they barely let me get any shots from far.. 1 went high.. and the 2 that went on goal were saved..
