didn't watch the match but was following it on soccernet's live commentary...did owen play that badly? was the defense any better this time than last time against croatia?
Sol Campbell was responsible for the Macedonia goal, when for a low header, but the ball ended up going down through his legs, into the feet of a Macedonia striker. James saved the ball, but ended up going rebounding to another Macedonian, Saved it again but it wasnt enough to keep it out.
Credit to Sol for that.
Owen hasnt been spectacular as of late, lets hope he compensates for it in the Turkey game, otherwise we could've been 1-1 earlier in the 1st half.
Other than the Sol Campbell blunder, the defence was solid today.
The build up to Rooney's first ever England goal was just great.

all i have to say is i am a macedonian, and i found no professionalism in englands performance. i swear that referree must have awarded 50 of the softestfree kicks ive seen. maybe some ppl are right soccer is for women. absolutely ridiculous, i feel if england had shown better respect then just maybe i wouldve enjoyed the match. but i cant go to bed now, been 2:30am over here in perth, a happy customer. as for david beckham, it is official i have no respect for him whatsoever.
2-1 just as i expected, it was no surprise at all that Macedonia took the lead. Our defence was poor to say the least but who cares we've got the 3 points and thats what counts!

The Macs were playing pretty well in the first half. That goal by Hristov was lucky, but the play they made was good. I would say if England hadn't put in Hesky, they would've tied at the least.
