Exactly... Which one of them?

Shame that one of the best Madrid teams of the decade has to be recognised as this.

Incredible the level of both teams in August, incredible. What a sore losers and violent scum Madrid players are.

what sh!t?

Marcelo's vicious tackle on Cesc. After that all hell breaks loose, obviously.

Also, Pepe once again being a total asshole. He had a yellow card already and in a corner kick situation he elbowed Pique, which the referee somehow missed. Prior to that tackle Marcelo kicked Messi while jumping and Messi running next to him... Just the usual scumbag stuff Madrid pull off.

Mourinho even had the nerve to say after the final incident (where he also went to the crowd and pinched Vilanova), that he's been polite and played like a man, not fallen to the ground from the first contact - referring to that tackle on Cesc. Are you ******* kidding me?

red cards exist to punish reckless challenges ... Marcelo got one ...

obviously? why? there is no accommodation in the rules for a team's bench to rush onto the field ... the officials can handle it, or they will call in the police to do so ... don't bother suggesting an excuse for it; none exist ...

yes, and Barça were (and always have been) angels, perfectly timing all their challenges, and never once playacting in an exaggerated manner like bitch pussies to get the opposition carded ...

that's right, Vilanova hadn't provoked Mourinho earlier ... and Cesc was totally injured, meaning he had to roll around for a while before his superhuman immune response system allowed him to quickly and effectively 'jog it off' ...

feel free to colour the badge 'blue' and 'red' with the non-toxic markers they gave you, and then ask an adult to pin the badge onto your special little chest ... ok? there's a good lad!

Seriously? You're just putting words in my mouth.

The fact that Marcelo got punished doesn't mean it should be stopped. It's not just a reckless challenge gone wrong. It's an act of frustration, with intention to injure the target.

You were surprised the challenge started a brawl? Me not saying it was obvious doesn't mean I encourage such behaviour. But with the recent matches between the teams, to me it was pretty obvious that an uncalled challenge like that in front of the benches will most likely end up in a brawl.

And once again, I've never claimed Barca are angels or supported playacting from anyone - I've always tried to be pretty clear about my point in those situations, no matter who's the diver. But there's a middleground between being an angel and being a thug/bitch. Most players in the game are like that. The one's that are angels deserve praise for it, the one's that are assholes deserve **** for it.

So provoking is now an excuse for laying one's hand on another? I think Jose should be able to take it. Mourinho wasn't saying Cesc exaggerated a bit, he was calling that a dive. The bastard scissor tackled him catching first his right ankle, and then following through to the back of his knee with his other leg. You think Cesc wasn't hurt at all? He had an icepack taped onto his knee right after the match. And again, even if he wasn't hurt, that's sadly typical behaviour in modern football - almost everyone exaggerates their "injuries", that's far different from blatant diving. And Cesc didn't quickly jog it off. He was on the ground getting treated during the brawl. (Also, I saw a video which suggested that Mourinho went to give him a little kick while he was in the ground, but I won't say he did, as the video was really tough to interprete.

And for someone who likes to pick on other people's arguments - or lack thereof - I'm really disappointed in your last statement. When everything else fails, try insulting, and being condescending - yeah, that will work. Good job, "lad".

I don't want to be condescending to you, but you posted that stupid special needs badge, and it deserves a retort ...

and I'm honestly surprised that you -- who are not one of the numpty Barça fanboy brigade -- are taking such a clear side on this issue ...

I think it is ridiculous to insinuate that Marcelo was trying to injure Cesc because you have absolutely no proof; reckless challenges have always existed, and red cards exist to punish them ... and Pepe was clearly mental long before José was his manager ...

I think it is a disgrace that Barça have in recent years taken this high-and-mighty stand to all aspects of football and socio-political life, when they only have claim to a certain style aspect of playing with the football ...

and yes, Moudrid clearly want to ruffle the feathers in their attempt to topple the greatest footballing side ever seen ... but Barça constantly acting the victim is pouring fuel onto the fire, and is what is causing the envelope of antagonization to be pushed in this rivalry ...

when even intelligent fans like you fail to see the contributing faults with your own team, we really do have a problem ...

Again, at which point did I blame Jose for Pepe's mental state?

Didn't think you'd think that pic that seriously, just thought it was a funny end to the post - after all, Jose has called himself special.

You keep talking abotu Barca putting themself up on a pedestal, etc. How does this happen during a game? How does it justify violent actions?

Of course I can't for sure know what Marcelo is thinking in the challenge, but it's a stupid, unnecessary challenge, in the dying minutes of the match in which their hopes of the title have all but been crushed. Seems pretty logical (with his past actions of stupid behaviour), and by looking at the challenge, that harming Cesc may well have been on his mind.

If I wanted to lower myself to your level (with your marker comment), I could say something about you going back to cleansing the ass of Jose with your tongue, but I won't. :)

yeah 'special' to 'special [needs]' -- not even a left at the traffic light to get to that one ...

uh, they act the victim on the pitch, and do the talking off the pitch?

yeah, fair enough for you to suggest your conjecture/theory and stand by it ... but making outright assertions of a serious nature is both uncouth and inflammatory, and that's what you were doing ...

hah, yes, and there would have been some reply about wiping the entire Barcelona squad's bukkaked jizz off your glasses and face so you can see better ... but good of you not to have instigated such a boorish quid pro quo :) ...

Starting XI
Mourinho has made Madrid play dirtier (tactical fouls and aggression towards opposing players) while simultaneously convincing his players that they are victims. It's a dangerous escalation of an already bitter rivalry.

The most surprising result to me is the change in Casillas' attitude. I can't remember him ever entering in any controversy, and now he is playing the victim just as much as Mourinho, when the evidence is clear that referee calls are correct.

Absolutely spot on on the Casillas thing. I'm really surprised as to how Jose convinced them about this nonsense. Specially Iker looks like totally believing this bs.

Kinda looks to me like he's trying to contain someone stronger than him, and sort of loses balance right near Cesc.

That's maybe dangerous and i think some people crossed the line, but i actually love this. Old school rivalry.

Piqué should shut up, is maybe right when he says that Mou is destroying Spanish football but Shakira is also destroying the world music and he says nothing (H).
