Long ball/lob control?

How will this be used in the game. I've heard they've taken out the "one button press player select". So how will long balls be done now?

if you are talking about off the ball... instead of being triangle, circle, square.. now is press L2 1 time, 2 times or 3 times depending on the guy you want to select
