Liverpool v Aston Villa [P]+[R]

Essendon BFC

Senior Squad
Kewell could have buried a goal but passed to Owen who hit the crossbar. Liverpool on top in this match lets hope they can convert this into a goal soon.

COME ON REDS!!

Seems he is starting to play well for the Reds in the last couple of matches:o

Liverpool win 1-0.

Not a good performance by Liverpool in the 2nd half. They really had all the chances but Jones was good on debut. Owen could have had at least 1 and Kewell about 3. We missed some easy chances. Oh well we get 3 points!

3 points is 3 points, i'll take it. KEwell had a few chances to add to his goal tally, couldnt even get some of his shots on target with some 'easy' shots.

diouf murdered villa. :ewan:

some poor finishing but i wont start moaning with 3 points in the bag. with some luck we couldve won by 3-4 goals. well played jonesy, something tells me he could just be the old head the team needs. biscan had some dodgy moments but jones was always on hand to spur the lad on. hyypia immediately struck a good understanding with his keeper and got stuck in. aside from picking up the customary caution, hats off to dioufy who played a blinder and not only pulled off enough tricks to positively kill off whomever he came up against but was also more aware and direct in his approach in looking to supply his frontline pair. now we need the likes of mikey and baros and carra and finnan and smicer and dudek and kirkland (oh wot a collection we have here eh) to get fit for a good bash at the remaining fixtures of the season.

Agree. I can't say I was particularly impressed with our display, but I'm happy that we got 3 points and managed to keep ourselves in the game. Delaney wouldn't have scored the own goal if it wasn't for our constant pressure. Owen might not have scored today, but he did try, and you can't deny that. (Even though 99% of you will go ahead and deny it and said he's playing the worst ever football in his life and should be slaughtered immediately before he gets Liverpool relegated) Misses are normal especially since Owen has only just started kicking a ball like what? 2 weeks ago? The goals will come in time, and then everyone will pretend to adore Owen again. Typical of the 99% of you.

The damage to this season has long been done, and right now, in order to keep and recruit quality players, whether we like it or not, 4th and CL footie is the goal. Bottom line, we're unbeaten in four games now in the prem whilst in the midst of the worst run of injuries in the league.
