and Viera is well past it. Then again Rafa might be desperate enough to try anything.
I think it's obvious to anyone that Benitez is way out of his depth at Liverpool. His tactics, formations and choice of players tell that quite clearly. He's been in England long enough to have learned the ropes but he has failed miserably.
One CL trophy does not denote a great manager. Consistantly achieving goals is what denotes a great manager. Benetiz can't cut it in our league. He is as green as the day he arrived.
You've only got to ask yourself one question. Have Liverpool improved under Benitez or have Liverpool got increasingly worse with each season. Exactly.
No point in pointing out that Liverpool finished second in the league last season either, because that was down to their main rivals experiencing in house problems and turmoil that had nothing to do with Liverpool. They reached second place by default and not on merit.
Then again is second place really something to boast about?
You can point in all directions to many reasons to attempt to deflect any blame from Benitez, but it is a fact that Benitez is still one of Liverpools problems. I hope he stays because that will make it all the easier for the rest of us.
The CL was his saving grace, and now he can't even qualify for the CL. As far as the league has been concerned he has never been a threat to anyone either in the years he has been at Liverpool.
So I don't expect Rafa to ever win the League. Now there is no CL this season either, and what happens if Liverpool do not make a top 4 finish this season?
Before this club falls to pieces completely Benetiz has to go. Anyone replacing him would be an improvement wouldn't they?
I do feel sorry for my Liverpool supporting mates but apart from that, Liverpools demise doesn't bother me one little bit. To be honest after all the crap we've put up with from Liverpool over the years, I'm actually enjoying watching them self harm.
Now they can experience some of the pain that the rest of us had to swallow when we were not as rich as Liverpool and League survival was our main concern, and all the while we had the richest teams in the League taking the p1ss as we struggled to survive. I remember those years vividly. Which is why I just cannot feel any sympathy for Liverpool now.
Karma is a wonderful thing.
