They are at most squad players, in my humble opinion. Zenden makes a solid contribution one out of ten times he plays, Pennant is too irregular, Nunez was a fiasco, Aurelio as a player has been average at best, Gonzalez is also very irregular.

But i wont argue, there's no true meaning for the word "good" (or any adjective for that matter) when it comes to personal opinions. What you think is good, i dont, and vice-versa.

For Kuyt, he's yet to reach his best days in the red shirt. Also very hot and cold, but he bags a few and he's a important player nonetheless.

I agree with you that they are not consistent and I have seen both solid and not so solid performances out of them.

I think that I get what you are saying, and having them play irregularly doesn't help overall but they have made some good contributions.

I haven't seen enough of their matches this season to properly judge, but I have noticed Pennant playing well of late, and Gonzalez contributed earlier in the season. That is sort of what you want from squad players. They have good runs and bad runs, so the manager has to know when to play them and when not, and I think Rafa hasn't done a bad job at that (again, from what I seen, which is admittedly less than I'd like :D) I mean, if they were consistently playing at their best, they would be forcing themselves into the first team (well, Pennant has the talent at least, and Aurelio is also good at times. Zenden I haven't seen enough of lately to make a judgment)

The thing about Kuyt is, even when he's not bagging goals, he works very hard and is always trying his best. I haven't seen him take a minute off in any match. His concentration is very good. He is getting to know his teammates and if they continue to maintain some squad consistency, I think Kuyt could develop into a Kop legend, he's that good and hard-working.

Anyway, as you said, opinion is opinion, that's why we have these discussions. But it's nice to exchange opinions in an intelligent manner, without foolish insults and such. (which of course I have done in the past, but not here :$)

Yes, i'm here because i love the debate stuff aswell. You've got a point, they all made good contributions. The thing is they're good, but small. In one game here, other there, but not much more than that. If instead of buying 5 squad players we had bought one world class player i really think that could've made a better impact in our season.

Gerrard needs someone to help him cope with all the responsability, another game winner to play with him. At the moment we dont have it.

About Kuyt, yes, he's very hard working and he bags a few, he's got potential but at the moment he has been decent and that's it. He needs to raise his head a bit more and he cant be that wasteful with the ball on his feet, sometimes he loses possesion too easily/early. He's a good player and i like him tho, and i hope he goes on to become a Kop legend alright.

Kuyt's main problem has always been that he wants to do too much: he also wants to defend, control the midfield and everything else. Because of this, he often does not have the power anymore in front of goal. If Benitez can make Kuyt a pure forward, I think he can become one of the best EPL strikers.

Both good points by Lean and PSVFOREVER.

I think this summer Rafa will get someone world class. With 50 million at his disposal, I don't see how he can't!

And Kuyt's competitiveness and willingness to help the team could well be one of the issues, you're right. What he needs to do is re-channel that to his attacking.

Don´t worry whenever Liverpool hears the You'll Never Walk Alone, That will help them to win and pass to the final!!!.

When you walk through a storm
Hold your head up high
And don't be afraid of the dark
At the end of the storm
There's a golden sky
And the sweet silver song of a lark

Walk on, through the wind
Walk on, through the rain
Though your dreams be tossed and blown
Walk on, walk on, with hope in your heart
And you'll never walk alone
You'll never walk alone

Walk on, walk on,
With hope in your heart
And you'll never walk alone
You'll never walk alone

Actually I'm glad you guys won. I know we're hated arch rivals and everything - but it was so sweet seeing those Chelski boys put in their place. (especially Mourinho)

See y'all in Athens (I hope)

Hey I just want to say congrats to all you Liverpool supporters and of course the team. I always admire Liverpool because they are one of the top EPL teams that alot of people don't really talk about. Benitez must be doing wonders. Everytime I watch Liverpool in the CL at home there fans show soooo much class. Best of luck in the CL.

Have you guys heard anything about Liverpool sending scouts to look at Juan Manuel Vargas from Catania? He plays LB and LM.

That is what it is all about lads. Another victory, another final to play. Instambul is not far from Athens. Lets march into the city of goddess Athena and grind yet another silver cup home to Liverpool.
Stevie Gerrard today redifined the term 'warrior'. He was everywhere.

Go On Reds, you'll never walk alone.
