I dont think Morientes is suited for the EPL style. Fast paced stuff. Sure, with all the crossing, he should be banging headers alright, but hell, he's not. Cisse looks too nervous in front of the goal sometimes aswell. Crouch still searching the net. Oh boy, our strikers form is horrendous.

Still glad we managed all 3 points though.

*From Koptalk and various other sites*

Liverpool FC executives were last night clocked at the Gillette Stadium, Foxborough (America) watching the New England Patriots getting turned over by the Indianapolis Colts.

Chief Executive Rick Parry and the club's Finance Director Keith Clayton were amongst a small party representing the club at the 200th game of the Kraft Family's ownership of the Patriots last night. The fact that Clayton was present is extremely significant, especially as we understand that he has always wanted Kraft over any other potential investors such as the Thais and Steve Morgan.

Bob Kraft was initially introduced to Liverpool Football Club as the primary investor of the L4 consortium but talks stalled when it became apparent that Kraft was only interested in a major investment and not a minor investment which the club was looking for at the time.

Kraft has an oustanding reputation as a shrewd and discerning businessman which is why we have always been so keen to see him brought into the club and if a deal can be struck, this would simply be mouth-watering. Not just because of his financial clout - he wouldn't foolishly throw money around - but also because of his marketing and branding experience.

International duty ahead. I hope our players dont get injured because we have a couple must win matches coming up in Portsmouth and Betis.
I hope Morientes scores for spain to boost his confidence more and get spain to the world cup and also kewell to guide australia through aswell.
Its going to be an exciting week for the liverpoolians on international duty. By the way with Boateng out of contract at the end of the season apparently Benitez wants him as he is free. IMO i dont think we need another free middlesbrough player. IM not dissing him hes good and all but a club like liverpool should be able to get much better. What are your opinions on Boateng?

Well i believe that R Parry went to see the Krafts for advice about the stadium. No mention by him of any investment. IMO he probably went to get advice on trying to manage escalating costs of construction of such a project and taking up and old invitation. But the English press are saying he wants Kraft to invest in us to help pay for are new stadium :chew:

Mediocre....thats all i gotta say about him. You're right........it seems more & more to me that we are becoming a fully fledged mid-table team

Kraft eyes Liverpool stake

American tycoon Robert Kraft has admitted investing in Liverpool is a possibility.

Liverpool chief executive Rick Parry travelled to the United States last week as a guest of the Kraft family, who own NFL team New England Patriots. Parry's visit was to observe the match-day operation of the Gillette stadium, although the Kraft family have also been linked with buying a stake in Liverpool.

"All I can say about Liverpool is it's a great brand and it's something our family respects a lot," said Kraft. "We're happy to have them come visit us."

He continued: "We love the sport of soccer and we're always interested in opportunities and growing, so you never know what can happen."

This guy is class he isn't a douche like the glazer family.

Mourinho attacks 'desperate' Reds

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has accused Liverpool counterpart Rafael Benitez of "desperate dealing" because of their late moves in the transfer market.

Mourinho was surprised that Benitez was attempting to do last-minute deals during the transfer window, but praised Newcastle's swoop for Michael Owen.

He told Portuguese newspaper Record: "Liverpool used the last available minute to conclude their deals.

"I find it difficult to understand that type of desperate dealing."

Mourinho, however, did admit Roman Abramovich's financial firepower left Chelsea in a better position to seal moves.

He said: "I recognise that that the economic power of my club puts us in a privileged situation."

Mourinho's Premiership pace-setters face Newcastle this weekend, and he admires Newcastle's ambition in the transfer market.

"Michael Owen and Newcastle were major protagonists in the transfer window. The scenario was perfect.

"A Real Madrid player, an automatic choice and important for the national team, his previous club Liverpool in the picture, another club, Newcastle, in search of success.

"He cost £17m and there were 20,000 fans going mad at his unveiling. Everything was perfect.

"Also before Owen had arrived, they had signed Alberto Luque from Deportivo La Coruna, another great player, which shows the potential of the club and the ambition of their dealings."

Is it just me or, he contradicted himself, talked about things that have nothing to do with him and showed good knowledge of others teams for someone who supposedly only cares about his own club.

I feel sorry for crouch... I really want him to prove his critics wrong, and even though he's been playing decently, he can't miss that many chances... or penalties...

Aye, shame about Crouch really. Cisse proved with worth and it was good to see Morientes score also.

a good result all round.

Yeah....he could put his head to good use as well clearing the balls from corner kicks ;)

I'm up for Crouch as a defender, if a player gets round him, he can always swing one of his legs round a clip the ball away (H)
