yeah, we were all hoping for that last pass man. We were hoping for Aimar or Vicente. Seems we're always being linked with top top class players, but this transfer window, so far, Rafa hasn't signed a single player that would get into our first team. Well, apart from Reina but I'd rather have Dudek for one more season in goal and spend that 6 or 8 million on a position we desperately needed to improve. Seems a while ago Rafa said he would get us that Right Winger and Centre Back in 7 days.

I personally thought that Sissoko was far from excellent against Boro. Many of his passes in the first hour were sloppy and he needs to get the temper under control sharpish. If he'd have connected with that swung leg he would have been facing a three match ban right from the off.
I thought that he did looked better as the game went on and in particular in the last 15 minutes he was starting to look more confident. I don't think that it's going to take very long for him to settle though and then, as you say, he could be massive for us.

I was slightly disappointed with Saturday's match. I don't get Benitez when It comes to the Premeirship. He seems so set on playing Morientes as a lone striker when its obviously not working. Bring the beast that is Cisse into the equation, strike some fear into defences with his pace and ferocious shots.
First game of the season so a tie is OK. Given the way the game went, yes, it should have been Gerrard 3:0 Boro. The striker issue will be figured out soon..I' m sure. Rafa will not sit back for too long this season. 
As for Luis Garcia, I think he is better playing alongside Gerrard in the central part of the midfield. That would imply a right winger is needed but Zenden was signed 
instead. And Sissoko has now been brought in so I feel THAT that' s why Garcia looked a bit out of place...hence the captain' s tonguelashing.

Liverpool FC have added to their defensive options by signing defensive duo Godwin Antwi and Miquel Roque from Real Zaragoza and UE Lleida respectively.
Defensive cover
Both 17, the pair are expected to make their debuts for the European champions' reserve side against Wrexham FC on Tuesday. Antwi is Ghanaian-born while Roque hails from Spain. Manager Rafael Benítez is keen to boost the available cover in central defence, an area identified as a possible weak link in his squad.

Woop we going for someone not spanish based now. Austrian young player of the year Besian Idrizaj, an attacking midfielder from Linzer ASK. Morientes just HAS to score agianst sunderland. I have more faith in him as he is my favourite striker of all time and he hasnt been doing that well. We need someone other then gerrard to set up the goals, thats what alonso hamann etc are there fro but they dont seem to be doing there job lately. I hope we put on one of the most entertaing and best displays to remember til the end of the season. Morientes hattrick lol!

I can see what you mean about Morientes, with the sort of class he has hes gotta come good soon, I just think trying to play the whole single striker thing is killing us, put Cisse up in support of Mori.

Whats up with this report about Marseilles sniffing around Cisse? I cant imagine him agreeing to such a move, but why would the club even consider offloading him already?

Well the board seem intent on bringing Owen back & they dont really seem to care about Cisse. Looking at the current situation i cant help but agree, but i do feel he should be given a little more time to prove his worth. Kewell & Baros sure got a ****load of chances. I feel Cisse deserves at least a fraction of that.
