Kuyt isnt going to Liverpool, and Torres is on his way to Man Utd.

Bellamy, Crouchy and Robbie -> sorted.

How can you argue that Tom? You've got 2 players who are almost notorious for being injured and someone whos form has been patchy at best

Niggly details such as player image rights added to Del Nido's acting the proverbial cunt. Alves has reitirated to Sevilla that he wants his transfer to Liverpool to be sorted ASAP but it gets complicated due to the fact that Sevilla doesn't have to sell and that Alves, like any starlet in Spain are held by the bollocks by clauses in his contracts with Sevilla calling the shots. Sevilla also want Liverpool to play their season 2006-2007 presentation friendly in Sanchez Pijuan towards the end of August as part of the deal - helps raise the 15 million euro basic transfer fee even before any performance and objective bonuses. However, everyone in Spain is of the agreement that it is just a matter of time before it is announced.

Alves is a side-back. I'm not sure whether its left or right. He did play well pretty much for all of Sevilla's UEFA cup trail in the past season. Does look like a bit of a dirty bastard though.

He is a RB and a very good one at that which is something that is not so common these days. As for being dirty well...I would not say anymore than the next player...

Alves did a great job at RM for Sevilla (2 seasons ago I believe), and that's where Rafa wanted him but the deal is off and we have signed Jermaine Pennant. Obviously Pennant means no Alves, UNLESS this is only meant as a kick up the ass for Sevilla president who keeps on Carlos*ing up the price.

Trabelsi is also linked, watching him in the WC I was actually thinking that he'd be a great addition and apparently he'd be free?

Fixture changes:

As a result of the 3rd Round of CL Qualifying, the home game against Newcastle will be played Sept 20th. The game against West Ham will now be played at Upton Park on Jan 30th. If either Liverpool or West Ham have to play in the FA Cup 4th Round on Jan 28th, the EPL game will revert back to Jan 31st.

Alves has played rightback, rwb, rightwing, centre mid and left back during his career. Pennant has been a backup all along but it seems now they're back on the negotiating table since del Nido might just have realized that he doesn't want to end up with 2 unhappy rightbacks (signed some German called Hinkel apparently) The last obstacle is not the fee, but the way the payments are structured. Still too close to call anything though but I won't mind having Pennant/Kuyt + Trabelsi either if the Alves deal is binned.

They were on Shankly's orders Gav.

Update on Didi, signed 2 yr deal with Man City. May the 'crumple' live on in our memories. Legend.

Non WC players back at Melwood today for preseason.

:(, hamman was a great player for us, brilliant in the Champions league final. I suppose we didn't need him though with Stevie and Alonso etc.
