Lippi Ready to Manage a Big Club England

Former Italy boss Marcello Lippi claims he is ready to manage a big club in English football.

The former Juventus and Internazionale manager, who led The Azzurri to World Cup glory in Germany last summer, is being tipped as an ideal replacement for Jose Mourinho at Chelsea.

Ongoing reports of a rift between Mourinho and Blues owner Roman Abramovich had led to suggestions that the Portuguese tactician will leave the Premiership champions come the end of the season.

Lippi, 58, has now added fuel to the fire by boastfully suggesting he could do a successful job at a Premiership club like Chelsea.

"I'm aware that I'm on the wanted list at a number of big clubs, but specifically at Chelsea, and I regard that as only natural," Lippi told The Sun.

"I know I'm a good coach and if anyone is surprised about top clubs like Chelsea wanting me, then I just point to my record.

"I have coached teams which have reached the Champions League final four times, I've won Serie A five times and of course the World Cup, too.

"If anyone thinks that a move to a big English club is beyond me, then I'd just say 'give me a break'.

"I'm ready, willing and enthusiastic to coach in England, even though I know that people mistakenly say I can't speak English.

"What such people forget is that football is multi-lingual - every major club has players from many different countries and I can speak enough English and French as well as Italian.

"There are already a number of foreign coaches working in England, so I cannot see why people might say that Chelsea is not the place for me.

"It feels wholly understandable after a year out and given my CV that a big club wants to sign me and I will make my final decision in May."

pretty interesting how Mourinho has equaled him exception of the worldcup and hes like 50 yrs younger,
4 domestic titles (all from Juve) - Lippi
4 domestic titles (2 porto, 2 Chelsea) - Mourinho
1* C.L - Lippi
1 UEFA cup- Lippi

1 C.L- mourinho
1 UEFA cup- Mourinho

big club in England eh i doubt he'll get a job at Arsenal, Man U, Liverpool, but maybe Newcastle

Is that a public application by Lippi for the Chelsea job? Because he stated all his strengths, achievements, previous job experience and the position he would like to apply for.

WRONG! He atleast won one, in 1996 against us(with doped players :( ).

That plus all his other titles(including the WC), makes him a far better coach than Mourinho.

5 national titles, 1 Champions League, Intercontintal Cup and European Super Cup for Lippi... Plus he played in 4 CL finals with Juve. Also 1 UEFA Cup final in 95.

Should've done better research ;)

I have got them straight. Actually it has already been proven that the they were cheating. There was even speculation about us getting the 1996 CL after all, but eventually I think the doctor got the blame and not the club itself, so things stayed just the way they were. Not that I would've been proud to get the cup in that sort of way.

haha, come on! That's wrong, only legal stuff was given to the players and the Doctor and team were found innocent. It's been 11 years now so get over it.

now let's get on topic, it's about Lippi possibly managing in England

You'll never convince an Ajax fan, mark. I live in Amsterdam and learned how to handle it. :D At the end of the day we still got it pretty in our trophy case. ;)

Finally you got something right, good for you. :)

now, getting back on topic because I don't want to give out warnings. :D

I think Lippi would do a great job for Chelsea or any other Big club in England. The only club he didn't do well was Inter and I don't think anybody could have done something there at the time.

I also heard some rumors of him going to Milan also but that was a while ago.
